Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAHSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
Definition of Qurbani :
Qurbani is a worship with goods and is Wajib upon every rich person . To sacrifice a specific animal on a specific day for the sake of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala with the intention to gain rewards is called Qurbani. Qurbani is wajib upon every Muslim who is not a traveller and is the owner of Nisaab and is a free person .
Who is Qurbani Wajib upon ?
Rule : Just as Qurbani is wajib upon males it is also wajib upon females . [ Durre Mukhtar ]
Rule : Qurbani is not wajib upon a traveller , however . if he wishes to perform it voluntarily , then he can do so and will gain reward .[ Durre Mukhtar ].
Rule : The owner of nisaab means to have as much goods in addition to the basic necessities , an amount of 200 Dirhams . [ Durre Mukhtar , Alamgiri ].
Rule : Whoever has two hundred Dirhams ( 52.5 Tola of Silver ) or twenty Dinars ( 7.5 Tola of Gold ) in addition to the basic necessities or is he owner of goods equal to two hundred Dirhams etc. , then according to the Shariat that person is rich and Qurbani is wajib upon him [ Alamgiri ].
Time of Qurbani :
Rule : The time of Qurbani is from break of dawn of the 10th of ZilHajj to the sunset on the 12th of ZilHajj , meaning 3 days and 2 nights . However , it is better to perform it in the morning of the 10th then 11th and then the 12th .
Rule : If the Qurbani is performed in a city , the condition is that it is performed after the Eid Namaaz , and because there is no Eid Namaaz in small villages and outskirts then it can be performed after the break of dawn .
Rule : It is necessary to perform Qurbani at the time of Qurbani , therefore , if that much money or the same amount of goods to the value of an animal is given , then the responsibility of Qurbani is not fulfilled . [ Alamgiri ] .
Rule : If the time of Qurbani has passed away, then the Qurbani can no longer be performed and if you had purchased an animal for Qurbani then give as Sadqa or give the equivalent amount of money as Sadqa . [ Durre Mukhtar , Alamgiri ].
Brother Mushtaq best way to do it, which my family always uses, is send money to one of your religious cousins or family friends back home and tell them to do it for u, just enlighten them with the farz and sunnan of the qurbani and then inshallah job is a gooden.
Truly, you are the sun en the other kings are the stars. Because when the sun rises there is no star to be seen in the sky. Do not underestimate shaytan, he has experience since the time of Adam ('alayhissalam) "O Muslims, be Muslims!"

A good thread Madni munna. It is expensive here to do Qurbani. I do One here, a Lamb , In the name of our beloved Prophet Sayyedina Muhammad Mustufa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam which cost me £75.00 some were charging £95.00.
I had one big cow done abroad which cost me £95 and that is done in seven names, my children and myself and my beloved marhoom brother and my beloved Marhoom nephew names. Its usually in a country where most needed. Muslims Hands prices vary, in most countries its £35.00 and goes up to £85.00 for one name Palestine being the most expensive. I do one here so my children learn the significance to Qurbani and get into the habit of it, by seeing and learning the significance behind it and value the importance of it. My older girls have been contributing financially as well for the past two years, as they have been working. Its much easier these days, as the shops clean it throughly and we only have to divide and distribute it which is a job in itself, but in the olden days many many years ago, they use to bring the head and the feet and we had to skin it and clean it and it took all day, that how our Bakri Eid was spent.

Assalaam Alaikum
I just gave £35 each for me and he missus for 2 parts of a cow which would have cost £250 , sent to pakistan.
Yes prices go up drastically the later it is left in pakistan especially, there are reports of bulls selling for as much as 3 lakh rupees(nearly £3000 )for qurbani purposes.
People tend to make much money in the name of helping islam these days sadly,a bit like meat and milk going up in price during ramadhan in some places.
