Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAHSalla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
*When one sneezes, one should say ALHAMDULILLAH. (Bukhari)
*In reply to this, one who hears (the person who has sneezed say Alhamdulillah) should say YARHAMU KALLAH. (Bukhari)
*The person who has sneezed must reply by saying: YAHDEE KUMULLAHU WAYUSLIHU BAALAKUM. (Bukhari)
*Whenever our beloved RasulAllah sneezed they would cover their face with their blessed hands or with a piece of cloth, so that the sound of the sneeze could not be heard too loudly. (Tirmidhi)
*Beloved RasulAllah said: "When one yawns, cover the mouth with the hand, as the full opening of the mouth allows the Shaytaan to enter the mouth. (Muslim)
*It is narrated in a Hadith, that when one yawns, one should not make the sound 'Haa', as this causes the Shaytaan to laugh. (Muslim)

MashAllah a Great Thread and Hadith Mubarak on Yawning and sneezing, Translation from Fizan-e-Sunnath
The Sunnah Of Our Madani Aqa Sayyedina Muhammad Mustufa said when you sneeze you should say “Allhumdulillahi Rabil Alameen”He said that “Allahdulillah” on its own,but when ones sneezes and says “Alahmdulillahi” The Angles Finish for you by saying “Rabil AlaAmeen” But if one says “Alhamdulillahi Rabil Alameen” the Angles reply to you by Saying “Yar hamukalah” meaning May Allah Azawajal Bless you”After One has sneezed and the other has Replied “YarhamukAllah” Then the one that sneezed can reply “Yarhamuna'llah wa yaghfirlana wa lakum” Meaning May Allah Azawajal have mercy on us and you, and forgive us and you.
Our Madani Aqa Sayyedina Muhammad Mustafa Has stated that one person is talking and sneezes that means that whatever this person is saying is true and correct and when one person sneezes whilst doing dua their Dua becomes Accepted SubhanAllah Azawajal!
Blessing of saying “Allhamdulillah” after sneezing is that you will never get pain in your teeth or ears SubhanAllah Azawajal!
The one who Sneezes if they say “Allhamdulillah” or “Allhamdulillahi rabil Alameen” whichever it is wajib on the one who hears them to reply back saying “YarhamukAllah” But if the person sneezes and doesn’t reply “Allhamdulillah” then one does not need to reply “YarhamukAllah” Sayyedina Abu Hurayra (radi Allahu anhu) reported: That at the time of sneezing, Sayyedina Rasoolullah. Used to cover his mouth either with his hand or with a cloth and lowered his sound. (Tirmidi)
May Allah give us the ablity to Follow the sweet Acts set by our Pyari Madani Aqa Sayyedina Muhammad Mustufa . Ameen.

Assalaam Alaikum, MashAllah a nice thread. JazakAllah for sharing.
I have a question, Is it gunnah to say bless you to Non Muslims after they have sneezed, because thinking about it they are not going to be blessed. However at work where everyone is white i am the only muslim. What do i do in this situation, when they see it as a part of manners i suppose.

A good question, sister Maneza, I too have often said it to my non-Muslim friends, it comes out of habit. Maybe you should ask the Imam.
A good thread sister Nomee, on the etiquettes of sneezing and yawning.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
i have a really bad habit of sneezing really loud, it just comes out and sounds very weird (so everyone tells me, that is). I've always been taught to say Allahumdullilah by mum when i have sneezed, and i also say that to another person that sneezes, that is not wrong if i said that to some one else once they have sneezed is it? also sometimes when we sneeze more than once is it alright to say Shukar Alhamdullilah, because I've always said that to?
by the way good questions bout saying bless you to a non-Muslim, I've always thought we say that out of respect when they have sneezed.
another bad habit of mine is making the 'Haa' noise when I'm yawning. got to make sure i don't and to cover my mouth. thanks for that, its a good lesson for me, as mum would agree

Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu It is said by Rasoolallah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamthe sneezing is an act which is liked (and approved) by Allah, where as He does not like people Yawning or gaping. When a Muslim sneezes and says `Al'hamdo Lilah' (All Praise is due to Allah) it is necessary for a Muslim to reply `Yarhamaka Allah' (May Allah have mercy on you). Yawning is inspired by Devil satan, therefore one should try to stop the yawning as far as possible. When a man yawns, satan laughs at him and enjoys it, because yawning is a symptom of laziness and negligence.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: Allah likes sneezing and dislikes yawning: so if anyone of you sneezes and then praises Allah , every Muslim who hears him (praising Allah ) has to say, May Allah bestow His Mercy on you. But as regards yawning, it is from Shaytaan, so if one of you yawns, he should try his best to stop it, for when anyone of you yawns, Shaytaan laughs at him.(Bukhari)
If the one who sneezes is a Christian, Jew or any non-Muslim, respond by saying: Yahdikumullah-o-wa-Yusleh Balakum (May Allah give you guidance and make your children pious).
It is mentioned in the Hadith that any person who says Alhamd-o-Lillahi Ala-Kull-e-Haalin at the time of sneezing, he will never experience an earache or a toothache. It is unlawful to consider the sound of sneeze as a sign of bad omen.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: The yawning is from the Shaytaan. So when one of you yawns, he should try to restrain it as far as it lies in his power. (Muslim)
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra (radi Allahu anhu) reported: At the time of sneezing, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) used to cover his mouth either with his hand or with a cloth and lowered his sound. (Tirmidi)
Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: Keep your hand over your mouth while yawning as the Shaitaan enters an open mouth.(Muslim)

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu I think i am an addict to this thread, you must give away what you have learned...
My Sweetest Sisters in Islam unfortunatley a majority of Muslims are unaware of the Sunnats of sneezing, when one sneezes they sneeze loud not knowing the sunnah and adaabs.
1. Hazrat Abu Huraira Radi Allahu anhu has stated whenever Our Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam sneezed they used to cover their blessed face with their blessed hand or a cloth and kept their blessed voice low.
2. Our Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam has stated when one burps or sneezes keep your voice low as the shaytaan likes the one who raises his voice.
3. One should lower their head whilst sneezing, cover their face and lower their voice.
4. When one sneezes and says AL-HAMDULILLA the angels reply RABIL-A'ALAA-MEEN if one recites ALHAMDULILLA HI RABIL-A'ALAA MEEN The angels do dua for you and say YAR-HAMU-KALLA meaning May Allah have mercy upon u.
5. If one sneezes and recites ALHAMDULILLA HI RABIL-A'ALAA MEEN 70 of his illnesses are removed/cured
6. Whilst sneezing if one recites ALHAMDULILLA HI RABIL-A'ALAA MEEN alla kulli haa-lin HE/SHE will be protected from gum and ear pain.
7. It is a Sunnah to recite Alhamdulilla whilst sneezing. The one who hears the one sneezing & reciting Alhamdulilla he/she should reply YAR-HAMU-KALLA ensuring the one who sneezes hears it, if the reply is delayed then one is sinful and will have to repent.
8. The second time someone sneezes at the same time does not have to reply to the alham-du-lilla as it is an option the second time.
9. WHEN ONE SNEEZES DURING SALAH HE/SHE SHOULD NOT RECITE AL-hamdulilla
10. If your reading Namaz (Salah) and somebody sneezes and recites Alhamdulilla & u say Yarhamu-kalla whilst reading salah your prayer becomes invalid.
11. If a non-Muslim sneezes and says AL-HAMDU-LILLA one should reply and say yah'deekumullah meaning May Allah Azwajal show you the right path.
12. It is not compulsory to reply to a non-Muslim
Fi Aminillah, May Allah shower his blessing and mercy upon all of us! Ameen!

here is one about yawning i got in an email....
Yawning comes from the Shaytaan & it is very common that many people do not know about this when you yawn without any discomfort your mouth opens automatically & people make all sorts of sounds & noises.
When one yawns he/she should try to stop the yawn as the shaiytaan get happy because it causes laziness & carelessness & leads to argumenst & shaiytaan loves causing such problems for you.
Hadrath Abu Saed Radi Allahu anhu said: Our Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam once said "when you yawn, you should cover your mouth with your hand because if you don't the shaytaan will go inside your mouth"
Some important points to remember whilst yawning:
1. When you leave your mouth opens wide whilst yawning the shaytaan goes inside your mouth and the one who makes sounds whilst yawning shaytaan laughs at you.
2. You must stop your self from yawning
3. Bite your bottom lip to stop your yawn or alternatively use the back of your hand to cover your mouth
4. When standing in NAMAZ in kayaam position & you are about to yawn use the back of your right hand to cover your mouth, if u are in any other position use the back of your left hand.
5. Another way to stop yourself from yawning is that Our Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam never yawned & imagine our Madni Aaqa never yawned because yawning comes from the shaytaan and Our beautiful Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam were safe from the effect of the Shaytaan. If you remember this everytime u yawn thn Inshallah you will stop yawning at that moment.
"Ya Allah keep us away from the evil habits of the shaytaan" Ameen!
