Assalam O Alaykum Imam Sahib
I hope this reaches you in the best of health insha Allah
I just want to know that when would be best to make a dua right after completing fard prayers or after completing sunnat namaz or else we can at the end of a prayer.... some of my friends have told me that we should make dua after fard prayer and we should recite durood shareef 3 times and than at the end of it and while making dua one should look up toward the sky although it wont be able to see it from inside the masjid or else should we look down....
Jazakallah

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is a sunnah make du'a at the end of the fard salah, however, there is no impermissability of making du'a at the end. The problem is that people who say, 'you cant make du'a at such and such a place' or 'such a such a time'. This is false. The du'a can be made at any good place, at any good time, some places are more acceptable than others, so too are some times, which are more acceptable than others. Likewise, du'a in a mosque, after salah is an excellent time to invoke Allah the Almighty, as there are no preconditions stating that it is forbidden. Allah the Almighty states: 'ud'uni astajib lakum'
'Ask from me and I will answer'. This part of the verse has no conditions, no time limits, no place condition, and should be practiced as much and wherever possible. Therefore it is ja'iz, and is a cause of reward to make du'a both after adhan, after fard salah, and after the sunnah/nafil salah, whether at home, or in the mosque. Jazak'allah for your question.
