Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
please shed some light on this topic. I came to know from one of my friends when she was fasting ( not ramzaan fasts ). Actually on 16 th of every month she keeps a fast and I enquired abt it she told ---yeh solah(16) syedon ki mannat kae rozae hain ,which are kept on 16th of every month, ie., every month on 16th fast is kept till 16 fasts are completed in number,. and the reason she told for keeping these fast was for any mannat which you wish gets fulfilled. I did not hear it before.please do clarify this.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuThis is the first I have heard of this Sweet Sister. Inshallah if somebody else can shed some light, that will be great. I know its recommended to fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th of every Islamic month, also because it is Shawaal it is highly recommnded to keep 6 fast in this blessed month, or to fast throughout this month and Inshallah one will be rewarded with many blessings. Also I have heard that Monday is a good day to fast, because Hazoor e Paak Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam also used to fast on this day, Mashallah! Like I have said it's the first I have heard of it, and it is amazing what one can learn in Islam, Alhamdulillah! May Allah Ta'lah reward her for her efforts, Ameen! Same here, it's the first time that I hear about this type of fast. Suppose it exists but the condition is strange in relation to a mannat. From what I heard, for whatever engagement taken in a mannat, there should be no break in between but with this type of fast in relation to a mannat there's a break as the fast of Ramadhan (being obligatory) on the 16th cannot be part of it.
Sister Ayeshah, do you have any other hints about the practices and beliefs of the Sister.

But, normally shia's have such types of mannats....... 14 imam and hazrat fatima Radi Allahu anhu and Nabi kareem sallalaho alaihe wasallam. They also have other strange mannats like hazrat qasim radi allahu tala anhu ka walima etc and many more.... I am not objecting your friend's faith....... but it might be, that someone has told her to do this and she just have it. Three fasts of hazrat Fatima and hazrat Ali radi allahu tala anhum is proved from quran shareef for the well being of hasnain karameen. I also had those type of three fasts for my sons two years ago when both of them were so sick that my heart was broken into hundred pieces when i saw them unconscious, then i made intension of three fasts and Allaha subhana tala had given them health . I did not hear it before.please do clarify this. Yes i have heard of it. 16 Sayyida ke roze are nafil roze kept on 16th of every month. I have seen such mehfils were all the ladies do the niyath for this solah sayyidah zorah for fulfilling they jayiz hajat. This nafil roze are opened with water and tilgud. Before intending to do this nafil roze one has to be have head bath the night b4 they fast. I have never kept this roza however i have seen my family(ladies), neighbors and colony members doing this fast. As much i heard this fast was kept by solah(16) Sayyidah who are all household of Habeeb-e-paak hazrath sayyidna Mohammad Mustafa Salla Allahu 'alayhi wa Sallam. I never heard such done by shia as far as i know. If i am not wrong long time back on this forum there had been a similar question with same kind of niyaz from the House of Ahl-e-Bayt i.e 10 bibi Kahani which i sure many have heard of it. there are books available for it. sis ayesha you can meet your friend, b4 intending to open the fast they will read that book and give fateha and open with tilgud. This fast u can find in common in memons. To read about this you get a book by name "Mula Mushkil Kushah", hope sis ayesha and others this helpd you. I hope sis ayesha your friend family read this book. last but not the least.... i hope u came across her very recently? Jazakallah! I don't carry all the details.
