Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu
Assalaatu Wassalaamu Alayka Ya Rasoolallah Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam
- Jewellery: Jewellery is permissible for women as long as it is silent, as the jingle can attract the attention of strangers.
NB. Sisters please take note that gold is permissible for sisters only. Males are not allowed to wear gold in Islam, as it is haram for them.
- Haircuts: Haircuts are permissible for women as it is important to keep clean and look presentable. However, haircuts & hairdos should not imitate that of a man, and hair must hang below the shoulders.
- Plucking eyebrows: It is haram to remove some of your eyebrow hair, or to shave your eyebrows and paint on new ones.
A Hadith Sharif narrated by Abu Dawud Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu states, "Rasulallah Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam cursed the women who plucked & those who were employed to pluck the eyebrows."
- Hairpieces/wigs: A narration by Hazrat Aisha Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha reports that Rasulallah Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam cursed women who wore hairpieces and the women who aided in this practise.
- Spacing teeth & having tattoos: This is not permissible in Islam, as it disfigures and distorts the original creation of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala. Those who have tattoos should get them surgically removed for his/her own benefit.
A Hadith Sharif states, "Rasulallah Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam cursed women who tattooed, and those who got themselves tattooed, those who sharpen the teeth of others (as a mark of beauty) and those who had their teeth sharpened." (Bukhari, Muslim)
- Make-up & cosmetics: These are permissible for women, so long as it is not worn with the intention to show off, impress or attract others or other wrongful niyyats.
A woman should keep herself tidy, presentable and be graceful at all times. She should also take care of her natural beauty too, so make sure you avoid things which can harm your health eg. direct sunlight.
- Perfume: In a Hadith Sharif narrated by Abu Dawud Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu, Rasulallah Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam said, "Males should use that perfume which does not give colour but has a strong smell; and the females should use that perfume which gives colour but has a light smell."
This is to prevent gossip and unwanted attention from strange men.
- Henna: Henna is permissible to use on the hands, and even on the hair as a natural dye. However, please beware of Hennas that are mixed with haram substances.
I thought so too. Brother Ridhwaan was being a bit
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAgreed! Heres some more info that I stole from another thread.. QUESTION: What is the ruling regarding cutting the hair for women? If it is allowed, then how short can she cut it?
ANSWER: In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
In general, the major classical Hanafi Fiqh books prohibit the cutting of hair for women. This is also affirmed by many Indian Subcontinent scholars. However, some scholars of the Arab world have permitted it conditionally.
Imam al-Haskafi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) mentions in his famous book in Hanafi Fiqh:
“If a woman cuts her hair, she will be sinful and cursed." In al-Bazzaziyya it is added: “Even with the permission of the husband, as there is no obedience to the creation in disobeying the Creator.” (Radd al-Muhtar with the Durr of al-Haskafi, kitab al-hazr wal-ibaha, 5/261)
The main two reasons given by Scholars for the non permissibility of women cutting their hair are:
a) Imitation of the Kuffar (non-Muslims),
b) Imitation of men.
However, if a woman trims her hair slightly in a way that she did not contravene any of the above two reasons, then this would be permitted. In other words, there are two conditions for this permissibility, and they both should be understood properly, and not misused or taken out of context:
1) There should be no imitation of non-Muslim Women,
The hairstyles adopted by kuffar and non-Muslim women, such as flicks, perms, fringes, etc… will not be allowed. Cutting the hair from the front will also be impermissible.
2) There should be no imitation of men
Cutting the hair in any way that resembles the hair of men is unlawful (haraam), as mentioned previously. Therefore, if a woman cuts her hair from the lower end slightly in order to equate the level of the hairs, then this will be permissible.
It should be noted that, if the hair is cut, then it should be well below the shoulders, and this permissibility is only to cut it slightly. If the woman is married, then this should be done with the consent of her husband.
Finally, it should be remembered that it is better for a woman to not cut her hair altogether, unless there is some genuine reason. In the early times, a woman’s beauty was considered in the length of her hair, and not in looking like a man.
In conclusion, generally it is not permissible for a woman to cut her hair. However, if the hair is cut in the manner outlined above, it would be permissible, although better to avoid.
And Allah Ta'ala knows best

Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuThe Noble Prophet's (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) hair when long reached the shoulders (above) and when not long they reached the earlobes. About the hadith which states that men/boys who don't keep a beard have 70 devils with them, I haven't come across it. However if it exists then we have to take the masail into consideration as this would be unjust for one who is beardless by hereditary factor or who is bound by his job (like Police Officers, army etc) not to keep the beard.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Abu Daud, Book 028, Hadith Number 4158.
Chapter : Adding false hair.
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) :"The woman who supplies false hair and the one who asks for it, the woman who pulls out hair for other people and the woman who depilates herself, the woman who tattoos and the one who has it done where there is no disease to justify it have been cursed."
Abu Dawud (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: "Waasilah means the woman who adds false hair to the hair of woman; mutawsilah means the one who asks for adding the hair to her hair; naamisah means a woman who plucks hair from the brow until she makes it thin; mutanammisah means the woman who duplicates herself; waashimah is a woman who tattoos in the face with antimony or ink; mustawshimah is a woman with whom it is done."

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuBeware of wahhabi distortion throughout the net of the following Hadith Shareef:It was narrated in Saheeh Muslim that Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan (May Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to cut their hair until it came just below their ears.” (al-Hayd, 320) In the English edition of Sahih Muslim the above Hadith mentioned by Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid (a wahhabi scholar) is not to be found anywhere, either in meaning or reference number. Instead it is written:Sahih Muslim Book 003, Hadith Number 0626.Chapter : The quantity of water that is desirable for a bath because of sexual intercourse, bathing of the male and female with one vessel in the same condition and washing of one of them with the left-over of the other. Abu Salama b. 'Abd al-Rahman (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu): reported: I along with the foster brother of 'Aisha (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) went to her and he asked about the bath of the Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) because of sexual intercourse. She called for a vessel equal to a Sa' and she took a bath and there was a curtain between us and her. She poured water on her head thrice and he [Abu Salama (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu)] said: The wives of the Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) collected hair on their heads and these lopped up to ears (and did not go beyond that). In the arabic version it is thus: i.imgur.com/7GyuO.pngNowhere is the word cut written and it is clear from the English translation that the hairs were collected (not cut) and lopped up to the ears when collected. If the hairs were already cut until it came just below their ears (as distorted by the wahhabis) then there was no need to collect them.Lopped means to cut off a part or parts from; trim but it also means to hang or let hang loosely; droop.Furthermore in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim we have indications that the Blessed Wives of the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) couldn't have short hairs, cut until it came just below their ears. Sahih Bukhari, Volume 001, Book 006, Hadith Number 313.Narated By 'Aisha (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha): In the last Hajj of Allah's Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) I assume the Ihram for Hajj along with Allah Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam). I was one of those who intended Tamattu' (to perform Hajj an 'Umra) and did not take the Hadi (animal for sacrifice) with me. I got my menses and was not clean till the night of 'Arafa I said, "O Allah's Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) ! It is the night of the day of 'Arafat and I intended to perform the Hajj Tamattu' with 'Umra Allah's Apostle (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) told me to undo my hair and comb it and to postpone the 'Umra. I did the same and completed the Hajj. On the night of Al-Hasba (i.e. place outside Mecca where the pilgrims go after finishing all the ceremonies Hajj at Mina) He (the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) ordered 'Abdur Rahman (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ('Aisha's brother) to take me to At-Tan'im to assume the lhram for'Umra in lieu of that of Hajj-atTamattu' which I had intended to perform. Sahih Muslim, Book 003, Hadith Number 0643.Chapter : Law of Shari'ah pertaining to the plaited hair of the woman who takes a bath. Umm Salama (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) reported: I said: Messenger of Allah (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) , I am a woman who has closely plaited hair on my head; should I undo it for taking a bath, because of sexual intercourse? He (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) said: No, it is enough for you to throw three handfuls of water on your head and then pour water over yourself, and you shall be purified.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Sometimes when I see the clothes and make-up women wear, I think to myself: I need to make hijra to another planet. But Alhamudlillah, Allah has made spacious roads in the earth.
Wassalamu 'alaykum
