Jazakallah Khayran wa salaam (1) Mujjaddad comes every 100 years (last being maulalk hafiz Shaykh wa wali Imam Ahmed Radha Khan passed away 1924) (2) Gaus abdal and wali : theae are prent at ever place and time, with regards to the abdal see verse 2:251 of the qur'an al akreem for proof of their existence and also in musnad ahmed and tabrani 1:122 regarding hadeeth narated by shuray ibne ubay who stated that I heard from hadret maula paak karemallahu wajhu ta3ala wajha hul kareem (and in another naration from Mujaahid) that between hajri aswad and makaami ibrahim the abdaal will take bayah with Imam mahdi rehmullahi ta'ala. there is another hadith also stating in the musnad that there is 40 abdaal in shaam and by their supplication and actions it rains etc. Another aspect of the Abdaals are that when 1 passes away they are replaced.

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa BarakaatuhuNarrated Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu): The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it. (Sunan Abu Dawood, Book 37, Hadith 4278)The following Hadith Masters recorded the above Hadith Shareef: Imam Abu-Dawood and Imam Hakim (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) in his Mustadrak, Imam Bayhaqee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his Al-Ma'rifah, reported by the great Hadith Master Imam Jalal al-Deen Suyootee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his al-Jama'e al-Sagheer fi Hadith al-Basheer wal-Nazeer, Imam Bayhaqee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) also narrates in his Al-Mudkhal and Imam Hasan bin Sufyan and Imam Bazar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) both in their Musnads, Imam Tabranee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his al-Mu'jam al-al-Awsat, Imam Ibn 'Adee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his Kamil and Imam Abu-Na'eem (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his al-Hil'ya.Commenting on the authenticity of the above Hadith Shareef, Allama Imam Isma'eel Haqqee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) records in his marginal notes of Siraj al-Muneer Sharh Jame'h al-Sagheer: "My Shaykh said that there is a consensus of the Hadith Masters that this Hadith is Sahih."Amongst the later Hadith Masters that verified this Hadith Shareef as Sahih are Imam Allama Abul-Fadl Iraqee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and Imam Allama ibn Hajr (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and amongst the predecessor Masters, Imam Hakim (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) author of Sahih al-Mustadrak and Imam Bayhaqee (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) author of al-Mudkhal. Imam Jalaludeen Suyooti (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his Mirqat al-Saood's marginal notes of Sunan Abu-Dawood records: اتفق الحفاظ على تصحيحه It is a consensus of the Muhadditheen (Hadith Masters) that this Hadith is Sahih. In other the words, when there comes a period in which there is a shortage of knowledge and a deterioration in following of the Sunnah; when there is an increase in false innovations and ignorance; then Almighty Allah will send a person at the beginning or end of every century who will show the difference between Sunnah and Bid'at. He will refute and destroy false innovations and will fear none but Almighty Allah. He will very bravely and sincerely hoist the flag of Deen-e-Muhammadi (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam). Such a person is known as a "Mujaddid" (Reviver) of Deen. The author of the book, "Siraj al-Muneer Sharh Jame'h al-Sagheer", has explained who a Mujaddid is in the following words: "In other words, to revive the Deen is to revive those teachings of the Quran and Sunnah that are being destroyed and to give command according to the Quran and Sunnah."Allamah Munaadi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) states: "A Mujaddid is one who separates Sunnah from Bid'ah and one who degrades the status of the Ahle Bid'ah."

Bismillahir Rahmaanir RaheemWhy does a Mujaddid come after 100 years?A Mujaddid is sent after every 100 years because after every century the surroundings, the environment, the manner of thinking and ways of the people tend to pass through a massive transformation. It has been stated in the Hadith of Bukhari Shareef that during the latter stages of the Prophet's (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) physical life, one night, after performing Esha Salaah, he stood up and said, "Should I inform you of the importance of this night? From this night onwards, right up to the end of a 100 years, that person who is alive on the earth (presently) will not be alive."The concept of Tajdeed (Revival) of Deen:The correct meaning or concept of Tajdeed (Revival) is that one or more qualities are found in a person through which Ummat-e-Muhammadiyya benefit religiously e.g. imparting Islamic education, lecturing, and propagation, informing and forbidding people of evil and assisting the truthful. The Qualities of a Mujaddid:

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Identification of a Mujaddid:
Shaykh al-Islam Imam Badr al-Deen Abdal (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) states in his book, Risalah Mardiyyah fi al-Nusrat Madhab al-Ash'riyyah:
"A Mujaddid is recognized by the strong opinion of his contemporary noble Ulama who greatly benefit from his condition and prolific Knowledge. He will be an embodiment of both external and internal sciences of Knowledge supporting and defending the Sunnah and challenging and defeating Bid'ah."
Can their be more than one Mujaddid to a century?
There can be more, and there has already been more than one Mujaddid to a Century. In the Hadith, the Arabic word that is used to explain the coming of the Mujaddid is in the singular tense, but according to the meaning, it is a plural as it has been explained in the Kitaabs of Usool-e-Fiqh. Allamah Mulla Ali bin Sultan Qaari (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) who is also said to be the Mujaddid of the 11th Century says,
"From the words, not only one single person is implied, but the implication is towards a group of people, from amongst whom each one is reforming a single type of knowledge or all types of knowledge in his city."
So, Sometimes a single Mujaddid is born in a century and sometimes there are two or a group in one given century when a consensus cannot be reached on one person. There are time when an Aalim be in the middle of century who may be more knowledgeable and excellent than the Mujaddid, but he will not be classified as a Mujaddid because he did not get the early stages of the century. This is so because generally when the century ends many of the great Ulama also pass away and great dissension and Fitna engulfs the Ummah. Bid'ah and religious corruption creeps into the masses who tend to deviate from the pristine teachings of Islam. At this crucial period there is a great need for revival and renaissance in matters of Deen. At this critical time Allah sends such an Aalim who removes all evil and religious corruption from the Ummah by publicly announcing and refuting them. He will be the best of people and most awesome amongst the dignitaries of his time.

with regards to the abdal see verse 2:251 of the qur'an al akreem for proof of their existence Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuBrother Sanaqshi, which part of verse 251 of Surah Baqarah (2:251) refers to the Abdaal, is it hidden in " they routed them by the command of Allah (Azzawajal)." [Surah Baqarah 2, Verse 251] So they routed them by the command of Allah; and Dawud (David) slew Jalut, and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him all whatever He willed; and if Allah does not ward off some men by others, the earth will be destroyed, but Allah is Most Munificent towards the entire creation. wa salaam tafsir jalaalayn { فَهَزَمُوهُمْ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتَلَ دَاوُدُ جَالُوتَ وَآتَاهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُلْكَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهُ مِمَّا يَشَآءُ وَلَوْلاَ دَفْعُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلنَّاسَ بَعْضَهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلأَرْضُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَالَمِينَ } And they routed, they broke, them, by the leave of God, by His will, and David, who was among the ranks of Saul’s army, slew Goliath; and God gave him, David, the kingship, over the Children of Israel, and Wisdom, prophethood after the death of Samuel and Saul, and the combination [of kingship and prophethood] had never come to anyone before him; and He taught him such as He willed, of the manufacture of mail-coats and the speech of birds. Had God not repelled people some (ba‘dahum, ‘some’, substitutes for [saying] ba‘dan min al-nās, ‘some people’) by means of others the earth would have surely been corrupted, with idolaters defeating and slaying Muslims, and mosques being destroyed; but God is bounteous to all worlds, by repelling some by means of others. substitute the bad people with good here substitue or replace refers to badala the root word for abdaal (plural)

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuJazaak Allah Khayran Brother Sanaqshi. I also searched further in Tafsir Ibn Kathir (English version out of which many Ahadith have been stripped by the Saudis because some are weak). As we know, they don't pay attention whether some weak Ahadith can be reinforced by other authentic and good Ahadith and also by the testimony of reliable Scholars of Qur'an and Hadith. I got another reference from Tafsir Ibn Kathir (English): (For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and Masjids, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much, would surely, have been pulled down.) (Surah Hajj 22, Verse 40) In the Urdu version of Tasir Ibn Kathir by Pir karam Shah al Azhari (Ramhmatullahi Ta'ala Alayh) the weak and Marfuh Ahadith are preserved and he clearly talks about the Abdaals.
This one is authentic and confirms the others. Abu Dawud, Book 031, Hadith Number 4273.Narrated by Ummul Mu'minin Umm Salamah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha): The Prophet (Salla Allahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Medina will come flying forth to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Medina. When the people see that, the Eminent Saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb. Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet (Salla Allahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him. Abu Dawud (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: Some transmitted from Hisham "nine years" and some "seven years."

Bismillahir Rahmanir RaheemThe Prophet emphasized in many authentic narrations the benefits brought to all creation through the intercession of Allah's saints and their standing with Him. Imam Jalaluddn Suyuti Alayhir Rahmah in his fatwa on the Abdal in his Hawi li al-fatawi provided many examples of this type of universal intercession from which we quote the following: 1. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) says in his Musnad (1:112):... The people of Syria were mentioned in front of `Ali ibn Abi Talib (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) while he was in Iraq, and they said: "Curse them, O Commander of the Believers." He replied: "No, I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "The Substitutes (al-abdal) are in Syria and they are forty men, every time one of them dies, Allah (Azzawajal) substitutes another in his place. By means of them Allah (Azzawajal) brings down the rain, gives (Muslims) victory over their enemies, and averts punishment from the people of Syria."" al-Haythami (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: "The men in its chains are all those of the sahih except for Sharih ibn `Ubayd (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) , and he is trustworthy (thiqa)."[That is: this is a sound (sahih) hadith.] 2. Al-Hakim (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) narrated the following which he graded sound (sahih), and al-Dhahabi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) confirmed him:`Ali (Alayhis Salaam) said: "Do not curse the people of Syria, for among them are the Substitutes (al-abdal), but curse their injustice."Note that any religious knowledge unattainable through ijtihad and authentically conveyed from one of the Companions is considered a Hadith by the experts of that science. 3. Tabarani (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said in his Mu`jam al-awsat:Anas (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said that the Prophet said: "The earth will never lack forty men similar to the Friend of the Merciful [Prophet Ibrahim- Alayhis Salaam], and through them people receive rain and are given help. None of them dies except Allah (azzawajal) substitutes another in his place." Qatada (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: "We do not doubt that al-Hasan [al-Basri] is one of them."Ibn Hibban (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) narrates it in al-Tarikh through Abu Hurayra (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) as: "The earth will never lack forty men similar to Ibrahim the Friend of the Merciful, and through whom you are helped, receive your sustenance, and receive rain."4. Imam Ahmad (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) also narrated in the Musnad (5:322):The Prophet said: "The Substitutes in this Community are thirty like Ibrahim the Friend of the Merciful. Every time one of them dies, Allah substitutes another one in his place."Hakim Tirmidhi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) cites it in Nawadir al-usul and Ahmad's student al-Khallal in his Karamat al-awliya'. Haythami (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said its men are those of the sahih except `Abd al-Wahid (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) who was declared trustworthy by al-`Ijli and Abu Zar`a (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) [as well as Yahya ibn Ma`in (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu)]. 5. Abu Dawud (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) through three different good chains in his Sunan (English #4273), Imam Ahmad (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his Musnad (6:316), Ibn Abi Shayba (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his Musannaf, Abu Ya`la, al-Hakim, and Bayhaqi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum) narrated:Umm Salama (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha) the wife of the Prophet said: "Disagreement will occur at the death of a Caliph and a man of the people of Madina will come forth flying to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Madina, and when the people see that, the Substitutes (abdal) of Syria and the best people (`asaba) of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him..." 6. Imam Ahmad (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) cited in Kitab al-zuhd, also Ibn Abi al-Dunya, Abu Nu`aym, Bayhaqi, and Ibn `Asakir narrated from Julays (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu):Wahb ibn Munabbih (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: I saw the Prophet in my sleep, so I said: "Ya Rasulallah , where are the Substitutes (budala') of your Community?" So He gestured with His Hand towards Syria. I said: "Ya Rasulallah , aren't there any in Iraq?" He said: "Yes, Muhammad ibn Wasi`, Hassan ibn Abi Sinan, and Malik ibn Dinar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhum), who walk among the people similarly to Abu Dharr (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in his time." Nawawi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) in Bustan al-`arifin (1985 ed. p. 31) mentions that the hadith master Hammad ibn Salama ibn Dinar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) (d. 167) was considered to be one of the Abdal.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Saalik would you kindly tell me why in every century above there has been between 3 or 6 mujaddids ,yet in the 14th there is only one listed?
Is the 14th century more special than the previous ones and how?
Seems this list was compiled by a razvi brelvi.
Why are tajdare Golra(even accepted by the elder deos, never mind sunnis as both mujaddid and gous e waqt),why not syed jamaat Ali shah and why not Shaykh Yusuf Nabhani included?

Why are tajdare Golra(even accepted by the elder deos, never mind sunnis as both mujaddid and gous e waqt),why not syed jamaat Ali shah and why not Shaykh Yusuf Nabhani included? Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuIt's indeed a Rizvi Barelwi compilation (not updated) and they also say the following but have not added it to their list: Sultaanul Munazireen, Sheikhul Aarifeen, Hadrat Mujaahid-e-Millat Maulana Shah Habeebur Rahman Abbasi Razvi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) was a contemporary of Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). He said, 'Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) is that King of the Auliyah of his era. This faqeer is his humble servant. This is the year 1399 Hijri. All the conditions of a Mujaddid are found in its most high form in Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). Only one condition is left. The fourteenth century is about to come to an end. If he gains some part of the fifteenth century, then there is no doubt, that he is the true Mujaddid of the fifteenth century.'
It must be noted, that as per the statement of Hadrat Mujaahid-e-Millat (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) did attain part of the fifteenth century, as he only passed from this world in 1402 Hijri. According to Hadrat Mujaahid-e-Millat's statement, Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) is the Mujaddid of the fifteenth century. Why they have not listed other potential revivalists of the 14th century is . Full conditions (Qualities of a Mujaddid) apart, we had and still have world renowned personalities and organizations who have revived the Deen, for example Maulanah Shah Ahmad Nooraani Siddiqui (Rahmatullahi Ta'ala Alayh), the leaders of Dawat e Islami and Minhaj ul Quran, whether the mass or some specific groups accept it or not. The proof of their achievements are right before our eyes, refusing/denying their achievements will not wipe the truth.

Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAla Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Faazile Bareilvy (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) was born on a Monday, the 10th of Shawaal 1272 HIJRI (14th June 1856) which is close to the end of the 12th century and left this mundane world on Friday, the 25th of Safar 1340 Hijri - [28 October 1921] which means that He (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) took veil in the 13th century. Narrated Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu): The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: "Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it." (Sunan Abu Dawood, Book 37, Hadith 4278)On the Harun Yahya's website the following are mentioned (at the time it was written):"in 8 authentic hadiths said by our Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) and narrated by Imam Suyuti (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) who is one of the greatest hadith imams it is notified that the life span of the world is 7000 years and 5600 years of this have passed until the time of our Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam). When we extract 5600 from 7000, 1400 years is left. In another hadith, our Prophet (Sallal Laahu Ta'ala Alayhi wa Sallam) said that “the life span of my community will not exceed 1500 years.” Since we are in the year of Hijri 1430 now and calculate that we are in the Hijri 14th century till the year of Hijri 1500, then it is a certain fact that Hazrat Mahdi (Alyhis Salaam) has to come within this century.

Fourteenth CenturyShaykh al Islam wal Muslimeen, Mujaddid-e-Aazam Ala Hadrat Ash-Shah Imam Ahmad Rida Khan al-Qadiri [Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu] Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuJust wanting to add to that, 2 great personalities who are also considered mujadids for 14th century but do get missed out in being mentioned alot of times, and valid arguments are submitted for them being the mujadid-e-azams. The 2 are Mujadid-e-Zaman Imam Muhammad Yusuf Nibhani Rahmatullahi 'alayhGhaus-ul-waqt, Qutub-e-doran, Mujadid-e-Zaman Qibla-e-alam peer sayyad Mehr Ali Shah sahib Golravi Rahmatullahi 'alayh(and you have other great personalities of the time who revived too for the likes of peer sayyad jamaat ali shah, then muhaddith-e-dakkan rehmullahi alay) Jazakallahu khayrun Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

In Malfoozat E Ala Hazrat Shah Mohaddis E Barielly Rahmatullahi 'alayh it says that the earth/time cannot exist with a gaus of the time..
There is a foot note on it but it explains how najdies say its shirk and this accusation has been dealth with but there is no deep detail about what Hazrat Rahmatullahi 'alayh meant about it.
Can someone please explain about this if they know.
Jazakallah Khayran

Sultaanul Munazireen, Sheikhul Aarifeen, Hadrat Mujaahid-e-Millat Maulana Shah Habeebur Rahman Abbasi Razvi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) was a contemporary of Hadrat Mufti-e-Azam Hind (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu).
Are you saying that Hazrat Mufti E Azam E Hind Rahmatullahi 'alayh is the Mujadid of our time? (according to the statement of Hazrat Mujahid E Millat Rahmatullahi 'alayh? It is also said that Hazrat Mufti E Azam E Hind Rahmatullahi 'alayh was the Gaus Ul Waqt too. But I am sure I read somwhere that Hazrat Sahib Rahmatullahi 'alayh himself did not allow anyone to call him this. Allah and His Rasool knows the best.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuSaalik would you kindly tell me why in every century above there has been between 3 or 6 mujaddids ,yet in the 14th there is only one listed? Is the 14th century more special than the previous ones and how? Seems this list was compiled by a razvi brelvi. Why are tajdare Golra(even accepted by the elder deos, never mind sunnis as both mujaddid and gous e waqt),why not syed jamaat Ali shah and why not Shaykh Yusuf Nabhani included? I know that Ala Hazrat Barielly Rahmatullahi 'alayh meet Hazrat Shaykh Yusuf Nabhani Rahmatullahi 'alayh! However do you know if Ala Hazrat Bareilly meet Peer Syed Mehr Ali Shah Rahmatullahi 'alayh and Peer Syed Jamat Ali Shah Rahmatullahi 'alayh? Can you share some information on the meeting (if there was one). So much blessing under one roof!!!!

with out doubt hadret ala hadret was the mujjadadi azam of the last century, this has been agreed upon by the majority of scholars from ajam and arab. Since then there has been no clear wali/alim that has shone as much and who has come forward that the ulema can agree upon that he is the Mujjadad for this century. there is another 23 years left for one to appear and if you read irshaadi qutbi madina you will know that it will be before 2020 if this is the time for the mahdi reheemahullahi ta'ala
