Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
After Sr. Surriya’s excellent suggestion of starting a thread where we can all get to know each other a little more and introduce ourselves to new members that join, I am creating this thread where we would like you to tell us a little about yourselves.
I hope you all make a contribution……come on, it will be fun! I’ll start:Assalamu ‘Alaykum. I’m Tasleem, I’m 22 and I’m from Blackburn. I joined the Ashrafi Board exactly 12 months ago and it’s been great. It has been really educational and most of all enjoyable. I have always wanted to learn about Islam, and I found this to be a most fantastic tool. At the time of joining, I was studying for my Masters in Health Psychology at University of Central Lancashire (Preston) and the workload was really heavy. But I couldn’t let go of the website and forum…..lets just say I was a little ‘hooked’! I am also a moderator on the board, and I my assigned board is the Sisters Board so if you have any queries or need help with anything, please feel free to get in touch – simply send me a PM and I’ll get back to you. Anyways, I’m not working at the moment, and that’s because I am engaged to be married, inshallah next summer. I tend to spend most of my free time on the Board, however, I also like reading, listening to Na’ats and nasheeds and meeting people. On that note, I will stop going on…… ……now it’s over to you.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu JazkhAllah sister for your intro. I'm looking forward to getting to know all the sisters a little better, as well all new sisters who join us, inshaAllah. Right then, I'm Surriya, 21 from Bolton (just moved up here during the summer, otherwise i'm from Ilford, London, I really do miss home sometimes). Anyway, I've been with the Ashrafi board for about a year and a half i think. I, like sister Tasleem have always enjoyed learning about Islam and I couldn't find the right 'ashrafi' or 'sunni' website or forum anywhere on the internet until I came across this website (www.islam786.com) and messageboard of course. I am also a moderator and I'm assigned to the Youth Board, nonetheless if you have any questions or need any kind of help regarding any part of the messageboard please don't hesitate to contact me by sending me a Personal Message (PM) and i'll also get back in touch with you as soon as i can. When I joined the board I was studying Primary Education at uni, and a few months back I graduated and am now a Newly Qualified Teacher! ;D All I have to do now is get myself a job, which I just can't seem to find but all in good time inshaAllah. Having said that I'm really enjoying spending Ramzan at home this year without having to rush to and from college/uni for iftar. I spend most of my free time on the board too but I also like to sew, and my little sister and brother have got me into reading Harry Potter as well at the moment Okay, I think I'm going on a bit too much now but before I stop I just want to say that here on the Ashrafi Board we are like a little family and we're growing day by day. When I first joined the board there were very few of us but now look we have over 300 members! So please do introduce yourself and we all look forward to welcoming you into our ashrafi family!

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Apologies for posting later than i should have done. My name is Muslimah (not my real name ), I am married with 3 young kids and live in Preston, UK. I joined the website shortly after it first opened last July and have been a regular since. As a busy housewife and mother i dont get to long on for periods of time. But i do read the posts, and by doing so i have learnt a great deal about my beautiful deen and also about myself. I would like to thank the moderators Sisters Tasleem, Surriya and sister Ashiq-e-Rasul (whenever she gets back online) for all of their hard work and wonderful posts and all the rest of the gang, for giving me my quiet moments of happiness and comfort whenever i log on. Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Salaams to all the sisters. my name is hasina, as you've all gathered. i joined the website last August, and as all of you i have learnt a great deal about Islam. so many thanks to the Administrator for introducing a really good Islamic website for all of us to log into. and also many thanks to the moderators of the boards for all the articles, stories etc that have been put on for all of us to learn. i have moved to Preston from Leicester recently, which i miss very much (especially my friends) and in general the city itself, as it is very different to Preston. i am currently studying NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy at Preston college. i completed Level 2 in Leicester. it is alot of hard work, and i get alot of homework to. i have not been on the website alot recently, this is due to the fact of all the college work and that we have moved. although i try my best to come on as much as possible. i like to spend time with my family, and to chill with my mates. i think thats it from me, who's NEXT? ;D by the way great thinking sister Surriya

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu My name is Khadijah. I am fairly new to this board, i only joined this Ramzan to put in my poem but then I am getting kind of hooked into it as it has some really interesting posts. I am 18 years old, studying BA Hons Education studies joint with creative writing. I am hoping (insha-alah) to go into PGCE for primary education. Last year i was proper hooked into The Da Vinci Code which is a novel written by Dan Brown . It is literally hard to put down. Its full of adventure, action and thriller. You see i love horror, thriller and action films/stories. I really enjoyed that thread where (i forgottten his name, sorry) but he kicked the Ghost... very scary and in some sense funny. However, learning about Islam has even better rewards. At the moment I am reading the English translation of the Quran. I am going to insha- alah continue and finish it after ramzan. Anyway, being a new member i sure do have a lot to talk about ;D I hope i haven' t over done it I look foward to hearing some more about other sisters soon on this thread ;D

786 Assalaam Alaikum Sisters in Islam, My name is Maneza and I live in Buckinghamshire. I am married and have a beautiful son who is 14 months. One day i was just browsing on the internet to see if there is something like this site that is Sunni and where the general public could ask questions to an Imam. So there is!! I am really happy and pleased to see this site, because it has answered a lot of my questions and inshallah will do in future too. It is really nice to see and know about each other in more detail. And soon i will recommend this site to my friends Inshallah. This time last year i was planning and getting ready to go to do Hajj, which i did with my father, may Allah taala except our Hajj and ibadat, as well as everybody else's. My 22nd Birthday was in Medinah Munawarah, and on that day i was able to pay my salaam to Nabi paak's Roza Mubarak and then straight after perform two rakat nafl on the place where aap nabi paak used to pray Tahajjud prayers. Anyway i wish i was going this year!!! That's enough of me for now. Allah Hafiz
