Thought i would start this off after browsing through the general board. It will keep us girls amused and educated while we are all on study leave as well as the regular members. (Maybe the men can have one for boys name on the main Islam board)? P.s. This spell check is great! you don't realize the mistakes you make in a hurry! I'll start you off. A = Aisha.

But talking about keeping us educated, why don't we write the meaning of the names too. For instance, you said: Aisha = the wife of Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) and daughter of the first Caliph, Abu Bakr Siddique (Radi Allahu anhu). What do you think??

good another gamei can play. B= bibi. I dont no what it means.? lol. ;D well done hajra. Although bibi is said more after a name than just a name it self. like Amina bibi or hajra bibi. no I dont know what it means, but i think its more out of respect like big sister or somthing . I have a friend who is called Bahrira.(don't know what it means though) Also Bilqees is my aunt name and it was the name of the Queen of Sabaa during the days of Hazrat Sulaiman Radi Allahu anhu C= is hard. I know Khadijah is k but some girls do spell it with C. I'll pass see if the other sisters will have a go. But D= Dilshad. (again don';t know what it means) anybody out there who knows please oblige! Good game and good idea! get your thinking caps on girls. ;D

You seem to be enjoying this Hajra, which is great! And you're quite good at it too! Anyways, I thought I'd help you guys out with some of the meanings. Bibi is persian for lady and like Sr. Salma rightfully pointed out, it often comes before or after a name e.g Aisha Bibi, or Bibi Khadija etc. Bahrira - I couldn't find the meaning using this spelling. However, I think it means pious, kind ( Barirah) Finally, Dilshad means happy and glad

A good game started, it is hard as not all the letters in the alphabet will be used up, but try! Also the meanings of the names is an excellent idea, even though not all sisters will have references to the meanings in front of them, but can be added on later by the moderators Sister Surriya or Sister Tasleem or my self, although i have a confession to make I'm not that good at it. G=Gulshan or Gulshad I forgot but it was one of those names and she used to be at mosque with us. But if that does not count then H= Hajra. Hadrat Hajra (Radi Allahu anha) was the wife of Hadrat Ibrahim (Radi Allahu anhu) and the Mother of Hadrat Ismail (Radi Allahu anhu)

Don't worry sister, we'll help out. But I tend to use the internet and 'google' in particular to obtain meanings. For those of you who would like to check meanings for themselves, yet without any hassle, visit muslims-names.co.uk and scroll right down to the bottom where you'll be able to click on the letter of your choice.
J = Jamilah which means beautifulAnd the meaning of Gulshan is garden

L= lameez pure silk Liba = most beautiful in jannat (Hoor) This link is great Sister Tasleem. I found C = chaman means garden ( its from the urdu language) I know we have had D but I loved this meaning so i thought i would share it with you. D= Diqrah means narrator of Hadith. E we have not had, and there were so many, so i chose E = Erum means heaven (I know some will argue that its spelt with an I Irum but it was spelt with an E on the website).

hmm trust me to get to the diffy one, cant think of anything with Q ? If you see on Sister tasleem's post she has put up a link for all sisters to a Muslim name website for boys and girls. Its really good and they have lots of names to choose from and tell you the meaning as well. They have lots for Q as well. Q = Qiyyama means Stand for Allah. (the meaning is beautiful)
