HAYAAT-UN-NABI (Salla Allaho Alaihe Wa sallam)
It is the belief of Islam that Prophets of Allah, specially our prophet Muhammad (Salla Allaho Alaihe Wa sallam) is Alive in his grave mubarak and given provision from Allah Ta'ala. However their state of living is totally different than this worldly life and cannot be compare in any aspects. Just like when a person killed in the path of Allah, he/she becomes Shaheed and Qur'an warns people not to even think about Shaheed that they are dead as declared in the following verses.
"And say not those who are killed in the path of Allah as dead; but they are alive yes, you are unaware" (Surah:Al-Baqara, verse:154)
"And those who have been slain in the way of Allah, never think of them as dead; but they are alive with their Lord, get their subsistence" (Surah:Ale-Imran, Verse:169)
So, When a Shaheed ummati (follower) of Rasulallah (Salla Allaho Alaihe Wa sallam) remain alive after death then how it is possible that Rasulallah (Salla Allaho Alaihe Wa sallam) himself would be dead. Is the status of Ummati is higher than the Prophet?

Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Holy Qur'an:
"When they were unjust to themselves, they come unto thee and ask Allah's forgiveness' and the messenger asked forgivingness for them they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning most merciful." [Surah Al-Nisa verse 64]
From this we can say that it permissible to visit our Prophet's [May Allah bless Him and grant Him peace] grave. Some people say that this Ayat was only applicable when our Prophet [May Allah bless Him and grant Him peace] was alive but not now.
The answer to this doubt is that he (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) is still alive in his grave, to go to see his grave is same as going to see him alive.

Not only the angels and all Prophets, but also those believers who have high status with Allah, such as saints, sufis, religious scholars, and other pious men (and women), will be able to intercede for others. May Allah subhanahu watala send blessings and peace upon the Intercessor Brought Near to Him, our Master Muhammad, and upon his Family and Companions, and may He grant us his Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)'s intercession on the Day of Reckoning.

A Hadith reported by Hazrat Imaam Abdullah ibn Mubarruk (radi Allahu anhu), narrated by Hazrat Sa'eed ibn Musayyib (radi Allahu anhu), who states: "Not a day or night passes by, without the deeds of the Ummati are being placed in front of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam). Therefore the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) recognizes his followers in two ways, firstly by their Alamat (signs) and secondly by their Amaal (deeds)."

Subanallah, it is said in Quran sharif .. "Verily, Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O believers! Invoke blessings upon him, and utmost greetings." (33:56) Mashallah, fantastic thread and quotes. Allah has created intercession as He has created everything else, out of mercy; He also said: "My Mercy encompasses all things" (7:156). No doubt His greatest Mercy is the Prophet (saw), concerning whom He said: "We did not send you save as a Mercy to the Worlds" (21:107). Belief in the Prophet's (saw) intercession is tied to the witnessing to the truth he brought and the recognition by the believers of his right as Allah's greatest Mercy. The angels intercede according to Qur'an, yet the Prophet (saw) is nearer to Allah than the nearest among them. No-one will speak on the Day of Judgment except those who have permission, and it is related in authentic hadith that Allah gave permission to the Prophet (saw).

Is the status of Ummati is higher than the Prophet (saw) ? Ibn al-Mubarak and al-Asbahani cited from Abu al-Darda' that he said: "Your deeds are shown to the dead, whereupon they rejoice and they are saddened" and he would say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from committing a deed by which `Abd Allah ibn Rawaha should be dishonored." This `Abd Allah ibn Rawaha al-Ansari was the great-grandson of the poet Imru' al-Qays and was himself a great poet among the Companions. He said of the Prophet (saw): law lam takun fihi ayatun mubina lakana manzaruhu yunabbi'uka bi al-khabari "Even if there were not, concerning him, clear and evident signs, yet the sight of him would have told you the news." Ibn Hajar narrated it in al-Isaba (2:299) and said: "This is the most beautiful verse of poetry by which the Beloved Prophet (saw) was ever praised." Ibn Sayyid al-Nas said of Ibn Rawaha in Minah al-madh (p. 166): He was killed as a martyr on the day of Mu'ta in Jumada 8 before the conquest of Mecca. On that day he was one of the commanders. He was one of the poets who did good and who used to fend off harm from Allah's Messenger (saw). It was concerning him and his two friends Hassan (ibn Thabit) and Ka`b (ibn Zuhayr) that was revealed the verse: "Except those who believe and do good deeds and remember Allah abundantly." (The Poets 26:227). Hisham ibn `Urwa narrated from his father that the latter said: I never saw anyone more aggressive or faster in his poetry than `Abd Allah ibn Rawaha. I heard Allah's Beloved Messenger (saw) say to him one day: "Recite some poetry appropriate to the moment, while I look at you." He rose up then and there and said: inni tafarrastu fika al-khayra a`rifuhu wallahu ya`lamu anna ma khanani al-basaru anta al-nabiyyu wa man yuhramu shafa`atahu yawma al-hisabi laqad azra bihi al-qadaru fa thabbat allahu ma ataka min hasanin tathbita musa wa nasran kalladhi nusiru I foresee for you immense good, of this I am certain.
Allah knows that my sight never betrayed me.
You are the Prophet (saw), and whoever is deprived of your intercession
On the Day of Reckoning, his destiny is disgrace.
May Allah make firm all the good that He gave you,
With a firmness like Musa's and the same victory.Upon hearing this the Most Beloved Prophet (saw) said to him: "And you also, may Allah make you firm, O Ibn Rawaha." Hisham ibn `Urwa continued: Allah indeed made him firm with the staunchest firmness. He died as a martyr, and Paradise was opened for him and he entered it. End of Ibn Sayyid al-Nas's words. Blessings and peace on the Beloved Prophet (saw), his Family, and his Companions!

Bi Ismihi Ta’aala’
Assalamu ‘alaykum,
Unfortunately there are some people, Allah Guide them to the Straight Path, who look at the Blessed Grave of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, merely through the perspective of a ordinary grave. It is then no wonder and so obvious the kind of evil and negative thoughts that occur in the hearts and minds of these people.
Such PEOPLE, as my heart and faith obligates me to address, go to such extremes as to suggest, nay decree, that it is an act of Disbelief and Polytheism to visit, with intention the Blessed Grave of Rasul Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, or to supplicate to Allah, The Most Glorious & Majestic, whilst facing the Blessed Grave. They go on to say such a journey is a sin - the act is an innovation – to supplicate near the Blessed Grave is unlawful and misguidance.
What we the Ahl as-Sunnah wal Jama’ah say is that the purpose and objective of all the above is because of two things, with which no one can disagree save an ignoramus fool and heretic:
1. The Person resting in the grave, 2. And, his Two Great Companions.
He is of course, the Leader of all the Messengers, and the Last, the Most Supreme creation of the Almighty Allah, the Greatest and the Most Noblest of Messengers, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, for without him the grave has no value, the Mosque bears no distinction, nor the City of Yathrib would be Madinah al-Munawwarah; the illumined city, without him what would the value of the believers be, for if it was not for him, his Message and belief in him, and the obligation to love him and bear testimony to him without which the testimony would be invalid and faith not established, no one would succeed nor gain salvation.
When Ibn ‘Aqil al-Hanbali, Allah have Mercy upon him, was questioned about the Superiority between the Hujrah; the Blessed Room of Rasul Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, and the K’abah, he replied:
“If you are referring merely to the House then the K’abah is Superior, if however you’re intention is the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, who is in it, then NO! For by Allah, neither is the ‘Arsh and it’s Bearers (The Angels), nor the Gardens of Jannah, nor the perimeters of the skies, for indeed, with the Blessed room the Sacred Body of the Messenger is attached and if was to be weighed with both worlds it would be heavier.”
(The same is reported by Ibn al-Qayyim, the most senior student and advocate of Ibn al-Taymiyyah, in his Book; al-Fawa’id)
For this reason many of the Ahl al-Sunnah ‘Ulama’ say: It is inappropriate (disrespectful) to say, “I visited the Grave” but one should say “I visited the Prophet, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam.”
The following is what the ‘Ulama’ have stipulated expounding on the statement of Imam Dar al-Hijrah, Malik, Allah be well pleased with him, :
“It is offensive for a person to say: we visited the grave of the Prophet, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, and that is because he is visiting someone who hears him and see’s him, and senses him, and recognises him, and replies to him, so, the issue is not the issue of a grave, more so, it is something more significant and more esteemed than merely observing through the viewpoint of a grave. So, hence now when we look at the Blessed Grave of Rasul Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, we behold and find the pure cleansed Souls of former Pious Personalities surrounding the Blessed Grave in every direction, and we find a line of Blessed Angels stretched out from the Highest of the High to the Blessed Grave of Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasul Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, advancing slowly turn by turn their line never ending and their number known to Allah alone.
“Angels arrive daily, offer durud with care, No further opportunity, only once to spare!”

Subhanallah! A magnificent thread, This is one of the most important attribute of the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam who will intercede for all the nations on the Day of judgement. He stated: " My intercession on the Day of Judgement will be my prerogative. So any person who does not believe in intercession will have no part in it." (Jaam-e-Saghir)
Allamah Sakhavi relates in Qaul-al Badee' that Sulamain bin Sahim who says: " Once I saw Rasulullah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam in a dream and asked him, "O Rasul of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam do you understand it?" He replied, "Yes I understand it and I even respond to their greeting by replying to it." Ibrahim Ali Shayban (r.a.h) has stated, " After having performed Haj, I visited Madinah Munawwara and went to greet Rasullah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam at the grave, and inside the room wherein he lies, I heard a voice saying: "Wa alaikas- salam", (and peace be upon you)

A fine thread again all Praise be to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, and blessings and peace of Allah upon His Most Beloved Prophet and Messenger Muhammad, his Family and all his Companions.
There is not one single act of worship in Islam that is not a tawassul (seeking means to Allah), therefore it is inadmissible to say that tawassul is not an integral and central part of Islam.

Allah, with His Name I begin; The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful.
Looking at al-Qubbah al-Khadra’; The Green Dome is ‘Ibadah; which earns the pleasure of Allah, The Most Glorious & Majestic, and of His Beloved Mahbub, Sayyiduna Rasul Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam.
Shaykh Majd ud-Din, al-Fayruz Abadi, Rahimahu Allah, in his advice to the devotees travelling to see the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, says:
Lengthening one’s gaze at the Blessed Room (resting place) of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, is ‘Ibadah, (a meritorious deed), as is the glancing of the K’abah. When the Za’ir; Visitor, is outside the Masjid an-Nabawi, he should focus his gaze continuously on the al-Qubbatul Khadra’, observing (the appropriate manners) and utmost sense of one’s presence (before Sayyiduna wa Habibuna Muhammad ur-Rasullluah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam).

The intentional journey of Sayyiduna Hadrat Bilal Ibn al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, to visit [Ziyarah] the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, and his famous Adhan.
Imam Hafiz Abu al-Qasim Ibn al-‘Asakir, Rahimahu Allah, reports on the authority of Sayyiduna Hadrat Abu ad-Darda’, Allah be well pleased with him, with a good chain of transmitters, that during the time when Sayyiduna Amir al-M’uminin, ‘Umar al-Faruq ibn al-Khattab, Allah be well pleased with him, conquered Bayt al-Maqdis; Jerusalem, Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, was residing in ash-Sham at a place called Dariya. During which he was honoured with the Ziyarah [in his dream] of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, who said unto him,
“O Bilal! What disloyalty is this? Do you not long for my Ziyarah!”
In frustration from the realisation of his separation and detachment, Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, awakes. He mounts his ride and arrives in Madinat ur-Rasul, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam. Upon visiting the Blessed Grave of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, he breaks into tears and repeatedly places his head upon the Blessed Grave of Sayyiduna Habib Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam.
It was not long that Sayyidayn Karimayn, Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn, Allah be well pleased with them both, appeared. Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, embraces them both in his arms and kisses them. They both insist to hear the Adhan with the same passion and devotion which he gave before their dear Nana, Sayyiduna Habib Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, holding his hands they escort him to the usual place of Adhan.
Having started the Adhan with his good and powerful voice echoing around the narrow streets of Madinah al-Munawwarah, it was like a tremor had hit the City. The waves of after shocks were growing stronger and stronger as he continued the Adhan. When he reached the words “Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul Allah, [Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam], even the veiled women came out of their homes. There was a consensus of mood, everyone remarking, the ‘hour’ had come and the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, had once again returned amongst them. No one had ever seen the people of Madinah cry as much as this day since the Blessed Demise of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam.
Shaykh al-Islam, Taj ud-Din, Imam Hafiz Mufti, Taqiyy ud-Din as-Subki, ash-Shafi’iy, Rahimahu Allah, in his famous praised and commendable book, Shifa’ as-Siqam, third chapter, commenting on the intentional journey of Sayyiduna Bilal Ibn al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, said:
It is narrated by the Prophetic Companions that the Muadhdhin of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, Sayyiduna Hadrat Bilal Ibn al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, made a purposeful and fully intentional journey to visit the Messenger of Allah, from ash-Sham to Madinah al-Munawwarah. The chain of narrators of this report is very good and strong. This report is definitive and determining in its status for the validity of intentionally making a journey to Madinah al-Munawwarah for Ziyarah. Many reputable Scholars have cited this event, from which some are:
1. Imam Hafiz Abu al-Qasim Ibn al-‘Asakir, Rahimahu Allah, 2. Imam Hafiz Abu Muhammad ‘Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdasi, Rahimahu Allah, 3. Imam Hafiz Abu al-Hajjaj al-Muzzi, Rahimahu Allah, [who cites this event with much detail]. Shaykh al-Islam, Imam Taj ud-Din Taqiyy ud-Din, as-Subki, Rahimahu Allah, goes on further to say:
Our corroboration and reasoning is not solely on the basis of the blessed dream of Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Rabah, Allah be well pleased with him, but more so; with his action [after the dream], he himself is a Senior Prophetic Companion, [the F’il; actions of whom are itself a source of legal evidence in Shari’ah], it was the era of the Khilafah of Sayyiduna Amir al-M’uminin, ‘Umar al-Faruq ibn al-Khattab, Allah be well pleased with him, and in the presence of many other Prophetic Companions. Allah be well pleased with them all. Neither is it possible that the Prophetic Companions never learned or heard about the blessed dream and the event.
As for the blessed dream, then indeed, the Ziyarah in the blessed dream is the Ziyarah of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam for the devil cannot imitate or disguise the Blessed Countenance of the Messenger of Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam. Furthermore, neither does the content of the dream infer any action or meaning contrary to the Shari’ah – so the post-dream action of the Prophetic Companion has further endorsed and strengthened the authenticity of the dream.
Let us supplicate to Allah, The Most Glorious, The Most Majestic, to grant us all the same effect of passionate love and devotion like of that displayed by Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Rabah, al-Habashi, Allah be well pleased with him, earning the delight of Sayyiduna Habib Allah, Salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam. Ameen.
