Jazakallah for sharing, i read half of the page upto the Iqbal Namah, it was a bit long for this time of night. Its the first time i have read about Shaykh al Buti didnt know too much about his background apart from bits ive read online. I was wondering if their paths crossed but the shaykh would have been under 10 before Allama Iqbal Rahmatullahi ’alayh passed away, plus the geography of the location. What does everyone make about the quote about them sharing the shame belief about Mullaism and sufism , thats seemed a bit misleading when they both believe in sufism.

Assalaamu Alaykum,
Trust me its worth reading. Its worth sacrificing some of your sleep over. Trust me, i just have. As you havent read all of it i think you have missed the point. I think the Shaykh means it in a metaphorical sense, as in that he is going through the same pains as Muhammad Iqbal(rehmatullahalai) is going through.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuThey key word is conservatism from that quote you have. In any case to be critical of a specific aspect doesnt necessaraily mean youre against it completely. That conservatism reference is for the salafi mullahs who opposed sufism point blank. I have read the piece and i thoroughly enjoyed it, not knowing what to expect .. and to be honest i havent read a great deal of Allama Iqbals work, but after reading shaykh Butis text i was lost in a different world, subhanallah ......

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
An excellent article, Jazakallah for the link.
Without doubt Allama Muhammad Iqbal Rahmatullahi ’alayh is the Rumi of Pakistan, if not the whole of the East.
