Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
As-Sihr (Sorcery) literally means something that is hidden and its cause is unknown. Islamically it means knots and shirk incantations that have impact on the victim's mind or body. The Islaamic rule regarding learning it and teaching it is that it is Kufr and going out of the fold of Islaam, according to the authentic view of the scholars. Allaah says, "Sulaimaan did not disbelieve, but the Shayaatin (devils) disbelieved teaching men magic." (Al-Baqarah 2: 102)
Brothers and sister we have to be really alert with shirk and its types, allah says that he will forgive all other sins is he wishes, except shirk (s 4:49)
Hadith - Qudsi 5: I am so self-sufficient that I am in no need of having an associate. Thus he who does an action for someone else's sake as well as Mine will have that action renounced by Me to him whom he associated with Me.
The purpose of our creation is outlined in the Qur'an when Allah says: "I did not create the Jinn[1] and mankind except to worship Me" (Surah Ad-Dhariyat 51:56)
Sorcery destroys good deeds of the sorcerer because it contains shirk, for one can not become a sorcerer unless he has sought nearness to devils by obeying them, slaughtering for them, prostrating for a jinn, seeking aid from devils, calling unto them, urinating on a copy of the Glorious Qurân, eating impure things, or perpetrating some other abominable acts. When he associates partners with Allaah and obeys Satan, the jinn and devils will obey him, serve him and provide him with his need in return for his associating partners with Allah SWT.
Further, the sorcerers always tell lies, have dirty minds and commit sins insolently. Allah SWT says, "Shall I inform you, (O people) upon whom the shayaatin (devils) descend? They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person." (Ash-Shuaraa 26:221-222)
Brothers in faith! Sorcery separates between husband and wife, between a son and his father, brother and friend. It dominates and weakens one's will power thereby making the bewitched perceive the harmful things as useful and vice-versa. He sees undesirable things in his house and his family but would be unable to correct it because he has been dispossessed of his will power. Sometimes sorcery kills, makes one sick, damages one's sense of reasoning, brings about delusive imagination, and destructive insinuation. However, all this happens by the permission of Allaah and His will for nothing happens except by His will. Allah SWT says, "And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allaah's leave." (Al-Baqarah 2: 102)
What to do, if you have been affected by sihr?
Sihr is curable and there are special surah and duas if you read, by the will of Allah SWT you will get better, inshallah.
1. "Allaahumma Rabb al-Naas, adhhib al-ba's wa'shfi, anta al-Shaafiy, laa shifaa'a illa shifaa'uka, shifaa'an laa yughaadiru saqaman" (O Allaah, Lord of mankind, remove the evil and grant healing, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, which does not leave any sickness)."
2. "Bismillaah urqeek, min kulli shay'in yu'dheek, wa min sharri kulli nafsin aw 'aynin haasidin Allaah yushfeek, bismillaah urqeek" (In the name of Allah SWT I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye may Allaah heal you, in the name of Allaah I perform ruqyah for you)."
3. Aayat al-Kursi from Soorat al-Baqarah, which is as follows (interpretation of the meaning):
"Allaah! Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists). Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursiy extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great" (al-Baqarah 2:255)

And when the sorcerers came, Moosa said to them: 'Cast down what you want to cast!' Then when they had cast down, Moosa said: 'What you have brought is sorcery, Allaah will surely make it of no effect. Verily, Allaah does not set right the work of Al-Mufsidoon.
And Allaah will establish and make apparent the truth by His Words, however much the Mujrimoon may hate (it).'" (Yoonus 10:79-82)
7. The verses from Soorat Ta-Ha, which are as follows (interpretation of the meaning):
"They said: 'O Moosa! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?' [Moosa] said: 'Nay, throw you (first)!' Then behold! their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast. So Moosa conceived fear in himself.
We (Allaah) said: 'Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand.
And throw that which is in your right hand! It will swallow up that which they have made. That which they have made is only a magician's trick, and the magician will never be successful, to whatever amount (of skill) he may attain'" (Ta-Ha 20:65-69)
