Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
While on my trip we were told about a museum that contained some things of the past that were replaced with newer things. We didn't exactly know where it was and anyone we asked wasn't sure either. We found something called "Makkah museum" but it wasn't open when we got there and found out it opens after Maghrib. So one day we got in a taxi and asked him to take us to the Makkah museum, he started taking us in another direction but I thought it might have been because of traffic. Anyway he dropped us off at a building called "Exhibition of the two holy mosques architecture", even though it wasn't the place we were expecting we thought we'd check it out just to see what it's about and it turned out to be the place we actually wanted to visit.
We weren't able to spend a lot of time there as we were in there after a Pakistani group had started and they assumed we were part of their group so they made us hurry through as there was another group behind that was about to start. I took as many photos as I could quickly so they weren't great photos but at least it gives some sort of idea of what's in the place. I'll post a google maps link later to show exactly where it is as it's on the outskirts of Makkah and not something you'd normally see or drive past.
If you want to see bigger picture right click the image and click view image (or similar depending on browser).

Jazakallah for sharing that it's nice to know the saudi government saved something when they broke everything down

I was told that the museum was started by the Turks before the Sauds were in control which is why some of the older stuff exists. The newer stuff has details about the Saud that was in control at the time...
