Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
For some time now i have been reminding some of our regular posters the need for the correct respectful terms - full use of the Darood Shareef when mentioning our Most Beloved Prophet Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam). We have had a tendency to abbreviate the Darood to initials like S.A.W. or .S.A.A.W ?
I have been guilty of this in the past and will endeavour to correct this on the website during given time. We must not be greedy and lazy in shortening our affection for our Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) and in our worship and praise of Allah Almighty (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala).
Instead of (saw) - (pbuh) we must always write : (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) or (Peace and Blessings be upon him) or other appropiate or suitable words.
Instead of (swt) : we must write (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) after writing Allah.
Instead of RA : (Radi Allahu ta'ala anhu) - Sahaba/Awliya-e-Kiram
Instead of AS : (Alaihi as-Salaam) - Ambiya-e-Kiram (Prophets)
Instead of Holy (Prophet) : Noble, Beloved, Dearest, Blessed
Instead of Holy (Qur'an) : Qur'an al-Kareem, al-Qur'an, Qur'an Majid, Noble Qur'an, Glorious Qur'an, Qur'an-e-Paak or Qur'an al Hakeem
Also remember there is only one correct spelling of 'Muhammad' (Salla Allahu Ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) for our blessed Prophet. The use and placement of the word 'HOLY ' is derived from Christian teachings ie; (Holy spirit, Holy trinity, Holy Bible, etc.,) and respect towards their own religious beliefs. Therefore we must refrain from using their phrases and terminology.
Please remember these small but important points of Adaab and respect especially when referring and pasting from 'other' articles.

The Beauty of Our Dear Beloved Prophet (Peace and blessings be with Him)
It was dawn and Hazrat Sayyidah Aisha Saddiqa (May Allah be pleased with Her) the Beloved wife of our Dear Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace & blessings be with Him) was stitching in her room when suddenly she dropped her needle. Although she tried her best, she couldn’t find the needle.
Meanwhile, our Dear Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace & blessings be with Him) entered the room. He noticed Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with Her) was looking for something. The Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) asked her what she was looking for and Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with Her) replied, “I have lost my needle.”
Our Dear Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) smiled revealing his (Peace & blessings be with Him) front teeth. There was so much light coming from His front Teeth that it had brighten the whole room and Hazrat Aisha (May Allah be pleased with Her) was then capable to find her needle. She was fascinated by the extreme beauty of our Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah (Peace & blessings be with Him)! How beautiful you are”,
The Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) him replied, “Doomed people would not be able to see this beauty on the Day of Judgement”,
Aisha (May Allah be pleased with Her) was astonished and said, “Who will those people be”?
The Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) replied, “Those who heard my name, said my name, wrote my name and read my name and still did not say any blessings on me. These are the people who will not be able to see this Beauty.
Conclusion: Our Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) was so beautiful that the beauty would also brighten the Dark when we hear the name, read the name and write the name of our Dear Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) and say blessing on him (Salla Allahu Ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam)
To write, “SAW” in the place of “(Salla Allahu Ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam) ” is Prohibited
Today it is very common that people don’t write in the Durood Shareef in Full after the name of the Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him). My dear brothers and Sisters when we do this we lose a lot of reward in writing the Durood Shareef. We should not write abbreviations like SAW, PBUH and SWT as this is Haraam (Prohibited) . Khalifa-e-Sayyidee A’alahazrat Sadrush-e-Shariah, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Hakeem Muhammad Amjad Ali Khan Azami (May Allah bless Him) who has been a big cause of Pride religious scholar of the Present century. He has done a very Big favour to the Whole Muslim Ummah by writing in the Urdu Language “Bahaar-e-Shariat” (Book) on many issues relating to the Islamic Law according to the Qur’an al-Kareem and Hadiths on the Topics of Tauheed, the Status of the Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him), Faith, Ablution, five times prayer, Fasting, Charity, Hajj, Ziyyarah and the daily practice of the Muslims.
In the third part of this Book Bahaar-e-Shariat with the Reference to Durre Mukhtarr and Radde Mukhtaar he mentions “Whenever one writes or has to write the Blessed Name of the Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him) one must write the words of the Durood Shareef and also recite with tongue thereafter, as according to some Scholars writing down of the word of the Durood Shareef at that time is Waajib and it must also be recited.”
It is Prohibited (Haraam) write Abbreviations like, - Sal’am” “Am” “Saad” “Ayn” - Many people also these days write - Salam - Am - Ayn - as a repleacement to the word of the Durood Shareef on to the Most Beloved Prophet (Peace & blessings be with Him). This is Prohibited (Haraam).
Likewise people write “Ra Dhwad” in the place of “Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu (a)” “Ra Ha” in the place of - Rehmatullahi Ta’ala Alaih (ah)”. This too should not be done. For those who happen to have the name - Muhammad” “Ahmad” “Ali” “Hassan” “Hussain” etc people form “Saad” “Ayn” over these name, this practice too is forbidden as it is that meant. What sense the hint of Durood Shareef over these names could carry here. (Bahaar-e-Shariat with the reference to Tahtavi etc).
Also to write “Jallaah Jalaalahu” in full with the Name of the Most High Allah (the Glorified). Don’t be contented with writing just a half a “Jeem”. Hazrat Allama Jallaal Uddin ash-Shafee (May Allah bless Him) has stated the first person that did this had his Hand Amputated. We should not write “S.A.W” in the place of “Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam”, “SWT” in the place of - Subhanhu wa Ta’ala”, “A.S” in the place of “Alaihis Salaam”.
We should refrain from using these abbreviations just because some respected Scholars do and that was because that was according to there Laziness and it doesn’t make lawful if they did, we should however try our utmost best to write the Durood Shareef in Full and not in a short form.

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Rahim
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Assalaato Wassalaamu Alaika Ya Sayyadi Ya Rasoolallah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam.* Hazrat Hasan bin Musa Al- Hazarmi , also known as Ibn Ujainah , says: "I used to copy down the Hadith. Sometimes in a hurry, I ommitted the Darood with the Name of the Beloved Prophet . Once I dreamt of the Beloved Prophet who said, "Why do you not write Darood with my name as Abu Amr Tibri writes?" "After getting up I felt much embarasment and decided immediately to write Darood in future with each and every mention of the Beloved Prophet's Name in the Hadith." (Badi')* Hazrat Abu Hasan Ali bin Attar says: " I got some written parts of Ahadith from Abu Tahir , and noticed that he wrote with every Name of the Beloved Prophet : 'May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) send His Blessings upon Him , a foregranted peace in large number, in large number, in large number.'I asked him the reason of writting in that manner. He said, "I used to write Hadith in my youth. Once I dreamt that I paid a visit to the Beloved Prophet , I offered salaam to Him, but He turned His Face from me. I went to the other side and again offered salaam and He again turned His Face to the next side. When I came for the third time to His side I asked why He was turning His Face from me." The Beloved Prophet said, "Why do you not write Darood with My Name in your book?" Since then I started to write the following Darood with His Name." (Badi')'May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) send His Blessings upon Him , a foregranted peace in large number, in large number, in large number.'* Hazrat Ibrahim Nafsi says: "Once I dreamt of the Beloved Prophet and noticed Him to be displeased with me. I kissed His Hand and said, "Ya Rasoolallah ! I am one of the servatns of Hadeeth, I belong to Ahli Sunnah, and I am also a traveller." On this the Beloved Prophet smiled and said, "Why do you not write Sallam when you write the Darood?" After this I was very punctual to write the complete Darood: Sallal Laahu Alayhi Wa Sallam." (Badi')* Hazrat Ibn Abi Sulaiman says: 'After the death of my father I saw him in a dream. I asked him how he was treated by Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'alaa. He told: "Allah forgave me." I further asked. "What good deed was responsible for it?" He told, "I used to write the Darud with the name of the Beloved Prophet in every Hadith." (Badi')* Hazrat Sufyan bin Sulaiman narrated that Hazrat Khalaf said: "One of my friends who used to study Hadith with me died. I saw him in a dream wearing a new green robe and running joyously to and fro." I asked Him, "" Which of yours good deeds are responsible for this honour and reverence? We do not know anything special with you than to study the Hadith with us." He replied, "It's true that I studied Hadith with you; but whenever the name of the Beloved Prophet appeared in a Hadith, I wrote Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wa Sallam below it." (Badi')* Hazrat Abu Sulaiman Muhammad bin Al-Hussain Hirani says: " I had a neighbour named Fadal. He used to keep (optional) Fast and offer (optional) Salaat abundantly. He told me, " I used to write Hadith but did not write Darood with it. Once I dreamt of the Beloved Prophet who asked me: "Why do you not write the Darood with My Name or recite it when you utter My Name?" After that I was very particular about Darood. After some time I again dreamt the Beloved Prophet who said: "Your Darood reaches me. Practice it wherever you utter My Name." (Badi')
