Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa’alaykum 'Assalaam, Islam does not discourage anyone from working so long as it is a HALAL earning. Working in a bank as a cashier, or an assistant is a good job to have. You basically do the work your told to do, get paid, and earn halal money. One thing we have to remember, is not to get the interest issue mixed up with earning a halal livelihood, because if you go down that road, then there is no currency in the whole wide world that isn’t tainted with interest. So its best to be safe. Stick to the middle way. Islam does not want any person to have any form of hardship, difficulty, or trouble…..’la yukallifullaaho nafsann illaa wus’aa lahaa’ And Allah is the Greatest Knower of All Things. Wa'assalam M Waseem Ashrafi
