Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Besides the real positive benefits in having a jaloos nowadays, there are one or two elements which dont go down too well in myeyes? I am not being negative and unsupportive, but looking at the overall conduct of some of those taking part.
I have heard that certain ulamas wont attend some marches unless they have a prominent position right at the front of the march .. ? why is this an ego or photo opportunity to raise their status.
Also in some marches i have heard that women have appeared and marched with men albeit towrds the back, even though this is totally against the shariah !
You see large groups of youths in some marches, wearing baseball caps, drinking from cans of coke, one wonders whether if they have even done ablution ?
Having said that i still look forward to the annual procession i just sometimes wish people gave more thought towards the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) which is the whole point of the march.
"O you who believe, pray on him with all respect" follows Allah's declaration that: "Allah and His angels are praying on the Prophet" (33:56).

A good post. But there is not a lot we can do.
Imams preach in the mosques to the people that want to listen, the youth and the people who maybe do not follow strictly shariah are probably in other thought.
But dont you think its better to have 5,000 in a milad march, than say 100 ?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I think the juloos are very important. I personally know a christian motor cyclist who became very inquisitive to learn about this Person called (Sayyiduna) Muhammad, (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam), who's name he saw written on the banners. Some friends were handing out leaflets and he asked for one. He later had several discussions with some youths at the Mosque eventually reverting to Islam.
The Juloos are organised as a tool to educate and inform the west of the great benefactor of mankind, (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam).
There are different people in our society. Many are ignorant of what is going on around in the world. Many do not watch the news, read books or live a 'religious' life. The Juloos can be the precise tool or means for such peoples interaction/introduction to Islam.
In our times any means to propogate our Deen peacefully and with integrity must be utilised.
We see when society wishes to bring a political/social matter to the attention of the wider community (and Internationally), they take to the streets and organise mass processions and rallies. The true image of Islam is the most important subject which needs to be brought to the attention of the International community.
The Juloos serves this purpose well. However, we must be organised, handing leaflets and literature on Islam.

Alhamdolilah!!!!!!
If there ever was one good reason you have named it in your post, but there are thousands of reasons. What more reason does one need to go into the streets to do zikr of Allahs Habeeb (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)
As for those he may not have the correct adab of these occasions then isnt it the duty of you and others to remind them ?

And regarding the youth in baseball caps drinking coke, isn't it better to have them there than not? At least this way they are showing an interest. We are all at different stages in our education and understanding of Islam and maybe these marches are a good opportunity for educating the youth in the proper adaab when attending these marches. Fi amanillah

If people dont have the right attitude and common decency to dress appropiately and within the shariah then they are better off home.

On all religous occasions all participants should dress accordingly, what sort of message are they giving if they dont ? If the majority can make the effort then the few who dont, should be told and singled out.

This is not India or Pakistan, we are in UK and our children spend a vast majority of their time in schools and colleges picking up all sorts of filth.
Our parents at home try to give them an Islamic upbringing but they are busy trying to earn a living or what not.
At a time like this we should be just satisfied by having the kids in the juloos and in the mosque regardless of how they dress (obviously to a certain degree, within acceptable limits).
If it is the will of Allah and the karam of Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa'aalehi wa Sallam) then these kids will change.
I and I am sure many of you will have seen many such situations where kids come into mosques in caps and what not and grow up to be scholars and doctors.

You talk about the uk but when i went to umrah back in '01 I met a man from Pakistan at Masjid e Nabawwi wearing, believe it or not, the Pakistan one day cricket outfit!
What do you say to a guy like him who is at the Prophet's alaihisalam bargah?

Why do we look at all the negativity! It is a Julooz for Eid Milad un Nabi, what ever they wear as long as they are covered up and dressed decently, what does it matter. Its the youth of today, we were all young have you all forgotten. Their time will come when they get older and wiser, all this criticism of a Julooz of Jasnai Eid Milad Un Nabi from us is no good. The intention is what matters and if they turn out for purely the love for Rasulullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) I think we should be happy. We need to attract our youth not turn them away, they are still in the learning process and inshallah they will learn through education, not through criticism and judging. As for critising the Ullema of Ahl Sunnah wal Jamat is way out of line.

it all depends on the intention and we are not in a position to know., but Rasoolai Kareem Ra'ufur Raheem Alayhi Salaato wa tasleem know with what intention each visitor is coming to their City.
if as the earlier post suggested that people came to attend a Meelad celebration procession wearing casual clothing purposely not bothering to even do ablution out of laziness and ignorance ie not giving any effort and importance to our Beloveds Birth then they may as well stay home but if people in the same physical outlook and appearance did attend the procession out of love and honour of our Prophets birth even though they did not give their appearance much thought but could easily have just as much devotion and love for The Blessed Prophet in their hearts as those who may appear in the full muslim dress.
we only have to see those najdis in Masjid e Nabwi in typical arab dress and we all know how black their hearts are.

My own aqeeda is that if you are on juloos for the Prophet alaihisalam then wearing Islamic clothing is appropriate and proper.
If you are at the Prophet alaihisalam's bargah then its utmost necessary to be in Islamic clothing.
I gave the guy who was wearing the cricket gear a good talking to but then its what they think about the place.
For me a jubba and my kullah was absolute minimum. Then again this was based on my own attitude that I would be best dressed in the bargah of the best of creation and our intercessor.
In due fairness I dont expect everyone or anyone to share this view but its just what i believed was best for me.
