Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
if you perform salaat with short sleeves does your salaat count.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim Wa' laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu If you wear short sleeves during salaah, your salaah will not be invalid, but it will be makruh. Bhar-e-Shar'iyyat, by Mawlana Muhammad Amjad 'Ali A'zami, gives the reference of Durr-e-Mukhtar, on page 85, of the third part, that: 'if a sleeve is higher than half of the forearm, or one gathers the material at the lap, then this is makruh-tahrimi, whether it was already shortened, or he shortened it in salaah' (translation) One must understand the importance of the ethics of salaah, in order to comply with it, so that one may gain the maximum reward and benefits. However if one fails to do so, then that salaah may be thrown back at him on the day of judgement, in the form of sin. Therefore, we should always try to do our best in all forms of worship. May Allah help us to practice in His worship according to what is true. Wallaho A'lamu biththawaab, M. Waseem Ashrafi

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Excuse my ignorance and apologies for butting in Imam Sahib, but could you give reasons or references why salaat would be deemed makruh with short sleeves ?

Wa' laykum-as-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi,
I'm sorry for this post as I have adjusted the original (first post), and provided a reference, for the first question. You may find this once you re-read the answer to the first post again.
Jazakallah,
