Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam If urine goes onto your clothes then your clothes become impure ( napaak), if you then go and pray in these clothes your salah will be void, and all those actions that led you to praying, for example performing the wudhu', using the miswak, and praying the salah, will all become invalid. This is why so much stress has been placed on being careful whilst visiting the toilet, so that none of your clothes are infested by urine or stool. This derivation has been taken from the famous hadith where the Beloved Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam had embarked upon two graves, the inhabitants of which were being punished. It was found that one of the inhabitants of the grave was being punished because he did not take care whilst urinating, and never saved himself from the splashes of urine. Normally in the winter months it is perfectly natural that some droplets of urine emanate from the place after visiting the toilet. These are then transferred onto the clothes which renders them impure. As stated above, all salah and forms of worship are rendered void if the correct action is not taken. The correct action is to wait for a few moments, usually two or three minutes, whilst exerting movement so that all the droplets have been exhausted. Then to wash the self, and come out from the toilet. However, some people prefer that they perform istinja, and then wrap tissue, or some other material around the private part, so that it creates a barrier between the clothes, and the urine. In any event, if such action is not taken, then such deeds are punishable in the afterlife, as is proved from the summary of hadith, given above. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
