assalamu alaikum,
If one memorised some surahs/ayaat and as a result of not reading them very regularly they forgot them, is it a sin?
If it is a sin where is the evidence?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Yes it is a sin. Forgetting the Qur'an once youve learnt it is a sin, as it involves forgetting your religion, your prophet and your Lord. If that means forgetting to act upon it, then to learn it is that action .The whole Qur'an is evident, and many verses suggest this. Please pray the Qur'an, and read the meanings of it, and that will be your evidence. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
