Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam Al-Humdolillah! Jazak Allah Khair for sharing brother Blue Lotus. I remember reading about this magazine when typing out my dear fathers book, which he has written in Gujrati and translated in English, about the work of the Ahl e Sunnah Wal Jammat in England going back to when he first arrived in the 60's and the spread of the wahabhi /deobandi sects in England and how the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jammat community few at that time, but dedicated tried effortlessly to stop this fitna spreading. Here are a fw extracts from the book, which has not been published yet, but I still have saved on my computor. " The compiler arrived in the U.K. in 1961, but it wasn’t until 1967 that the Ahle as-Sunnat movement began to flourish. Initially there was no fixed place of worship, nor anywhere to give religious instruction to the children, so the teacher, (hafiz) had to visit the children in their own homes for this purpose. It was during this period that shah Wajih-ud-Din Alvi II Rahmatullahi 'alayh popularly known as Pir Sayyad Bada Saheb (a descendant of Shah Wajih-Ud-Din Alvi Gujarati a 900 AH Saint) Rahmatullahi 'alayh came to visit his followers, (murids) settled in England. Pir Bada Saheb Rahmatullahi 'alayh made supplications, reviewed the situation and held discussions; which resulted in a group being formed in the name of the Hanafi Sunni Muslim Circle. A property was purchased to be used as a mosque with its name dedicated to Imam-e-Ahl-al-Sunnat A’ala Hazrat as-Shah Imam Ahmed Raza khan al-Qadri al-Barelwi (Alayhir Rahmaa) the mosque was known as ‘Masjid-e-Raza’. The news of this new Masjid was published in print in the following publications; ‘ MASHRIQ’, published weekly from London, ‘ RAZA-E-MUSTAFA’, fortnightly from GUJRANWALA, ‘TAIBAH’, monthly from Ahmadabad, ‘ ALA HAZRAT’, monthly from Bareily Sharif. The editor’s opinion and viewpoints are based upon the lectures delivered by the learned Ulema –e-Kiram during the Milad – Un-Nabi (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) gatherings, from other Islamic functions as well as from Hadaiq-e-Bakhshish-eulogy and love of A’ala Hazrat (Alayhir Rahmaa) towards the Beloved Messenger (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) of Almighty Allah. The services of the Raza Academy (c) of Stockport, which has done a great deal to promote Maslak-e-A’ala Hazrat during the last 25 years. Its founder is Haji Muhammad Ilyas Kashmiri, and he has published many of A’ala Hazrat (Alayhir Rahmaa) works in English. He had obtained the services of Dr Muhammad Hanif Akhtar Fatmi, of Professor Geyashuddin Quraishi and of Dr Muhammad Haroon (Alayhir Rahmaa) as well as Dr Abdun Naeem Aziz of bareily Shareef Haji Muhammad Ilyas Kashmiri, also published the ‘Islamic Times’ in English on behalf of the Raza Academy. There are other noteworthy institutions from the Indo-Pak Sub-Continent whose publications have been admired by the Muslims of England but these don’t appear to have been listed Just thought I'd share with you, the interesting thing is that the first publication in English was the following publication; ‘ MASHRIQ’, published weekly from London. Has anyone heard of this publication? ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
