Aslaamualikum brothers and sisters, i pray you all are in the best of health and imaan, Ameen. I had a discussion with my cousin a while ago which has been causing me distress a little bit. Well we both agreed that taqwa is our main goal, but he seemed to believe that by only following the 5 pillars and reading Quran that one can get taqwa. I on the other hand believe to increase taqwa one must also besides the above mentioned must study Islam, follow the sunnah as much as humanly possible, do more ibaadat, follow Sufism and everything else that we have been commanded to do, before taqwa is experienced. Please can someone clear it up for me, jazakallah khairun

Asslamu Alaykum in order to attain taqwa one needs to pray namaaz on time do tasbees do lots of zikr and follow the sunnat. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'alagive us all such qualities ameen. We have to make an effort our self in order for Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to help us on the above qualities. Also like to add refraining from excessive talk, slander and gossip.
take care Allah Hafiz

"O believers! Have Taqwa of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala as is His right to have Taqwa. And die not except while you are Muslims" [Surah Al-Imran (3): ayat 102] Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
