Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
Many of us members here are living in a Western country. We're descendants of first generation immigrants or you may be one of the first of your family to live in a Western country. Most probably our forefathers migrated from (a Muslim country in) Asia or the Middle East. Through time the bond with the home land of our forefathers may be lost or you may visit the families back home still. It's only natural that one day you'll compare life in the Western country you're living in with life back home.
You compare the service (e.g. medical service), infrastructure, (moral/religious) freedom, people, politics, serenity, etc.
Some people complain much about the Western country they're living in because life is too Western and there's no or little space for religion left. Yet others or proud of their home country and the Western country their living in. Then again you have others... etc...
In debates Muslims are shouted at to go back to their own country if we like to live with our own morals and ethics. They don't understand why some of us complain so much yet we choose to live in such a country.
Are you proud of the Western country you're living in? Please vote and discuss.
Wassalamu 'alaykum

Please do share your views, Inshallah!
hmmm, what did you lot vote and why?
I dont like the situations in both countries, back home, AKA Pakistan, from what I've heard it's becoming far too modern in the wrong sense, Women are fighting for rights that they shouldn't be, like the smoking one, which happened almost over a year ago I think, the dress sense is absolutely outrageous and then theres here, which Muslims are most likely at the centre of attention but for all the wrong reasons. Although the Countries itself offers many advantages.
So I bet you can all guess what I voted.
Good Poll Brother, keep up the good work.
Whats your view?
Fi Aminillah

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuNice Poll Haarith Bhay , by the same it would be interesting to know a little about the history behind the reason why our forefathers have left their homeland to migrate to other countries (European/American) where the practice of Islam is not as free as in one's homeland. Sister Hajjan I'm still what have you voted.

A good poll. Living in this country gives me and my family freedom, we can pray, go to work, college, etc without any major issues. Its not perfect and there are advantages living back home, but i would certainly prefer to live here.
If i went to my country of origin i think i would miss here after a few months.

Proud is too strong a word, i cant see how anyone can vote proud.
I dont think anyone one of us lives in fear in this country even though there are racists but think its certainly more fearful in Pakistan because of the bombings and suicude attacks, esp in our masajids.
Like someone has said there are some advantages in both countries.
On another point. If the bnp ever got voted in and forced all the non whites out this country would die and crumble into a third world economy.

Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
.
I'm from a country in Latin-America (called Surinam) and it isn't a Western country nor is it a Muslim country. The people over there aren't as poor as the people in India and Africa [the exceptions left out], but there aren't any trains or skyscrapers or much advanced technology like here in Holland... so it's different here in Holland.
If I make a balance I prefer the Netherlands. It's a well organized country. Minus point is that sisters are prohibited to wear hijab in certain places and brothers with beard have a tough time with finding a job, but apart from that we're free to believe and do what we want.

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam A great poll question Haarith bhai. I was born and bred in the UK so this is home for me, I do have links back home (pakistan) but sadly with the present climate in Pakistan not only am I saddened but appalled with what is happening. The facilities such as health care, social security etc available in the western world are far better hence people preferring the west. Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

I know that Muslim is the participle of the same verb of which Islam is the infinitive. All Muslims observe Sunnah, but differences in the definition of what is and what is not Sunnah has led to the emergence of sectarian movements.Perhaps you can appreciate the good things what I recommend [a href="ad link removed"]ad link removed[/a]
