“If Allah desires good for a person, He gives him understanding of the religion.” (Bukhari #71 & Muslim #1037)
Our deen lies between law(sharia) and spirit(marifa),
Our deen lies between intellect and love,
Our deen lies between theology and spirituality,
Our deen lies between negligence and extremisim,
Our deen lies between Hope and fear,
Our deen lies between moderation and justice.
And that this (Islamic law) is My straight path. So follow it and do not follow (other) paths, because they (the other paths) will move you away from Allah’s path. This is what He has enjoined you strictly so that you may become Godfearing.6/153
29/69 – And those who strive hard (and struggle against the lower self vehemently) for Our cause, We certainly guide them to Our ways, and verily Allah blesses the men of spiritual excellence with His companionship.
Indeed, the one who purifies his (ill-commanding) self (from all vain and vicious desires and cultivates in it virtue and piousness) succeeds,91/9
(O Beloved!) Say: ‘If you love Allah, follow me. Allah will then take you as (His) beloved, and forgive you your sins for you, and Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.’3/31
And seek (Allah’s) help through patience and Prayer. But this is no doubt hard except for the humble (whose hearts have been softened with the Love of Allah and gripped with His Fear).2/45
2/143- And, in the same way, (O Muslims,) We made you the best Umma (Community—fair to all with a tolerant, moderate and balanced outlook) so that you may bear witness to the people, and (Our exalted) Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) bears witness to you.
“Beware of extremism in religion, since those before you were only destroyed by extremism.” (Sunan Nasa’i, Musnad Ahmad and others)
Three people came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet asking about the worship of the Prophet. When they were informed, they thought it was too little and said, “Who are we in comparison to the Prophet for indeed Allah has forgiven him his past and future sins.” One of them said, “As for me, I will pray the whole night long.” Another said, “I will fast every day without breaking it,” and yet another said, “I will stay away from women and never marry.” The Messenger of Allah came [and when he heard of this, he] said, “Are you the people who said such and such? As for me, By Allah, indeed I am the most god-fearing and most cautious amongst you, but I fast and I eat, I pray and I sleep, and I marry women. Whoever desires other than my Sunnah (Way), then he is not from me.” (Bukhari #4776)
Abû Hurayrah relates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said “This religion is easy. No one becomes harsh and strict in the religion without it overwhelming him. So fulfill your duties as best you can and rejoice. Rely upon the efforts of the morning and the evening and a little at night and you will reach your goal.” [Sahîh al-Bukharî]
“Which people are the most tested?” He replied, “The Prophets, then the righteous, then those after them, and then those after them. Every person is tried according to the strength of his religion, if his religion is strong, he is tested more, and if his religion is weak, his trial is lessened. A person continues to be tested and tried until he walks on the earth totally free of sin (for they would be effaced due to the trials).” (Tirmidhi #2398 & ibn Majaah #4023 )

Sayyidina Jabir relates that on the 9th Dhul Hijjah in the Plain of Arafat near Masjid Namara Nabi stated: ‘Beware! Remember all the matters related to the time of ignorance have been placed under my feet and the monetary interest of that time has also been cancelled. The 1st of which is that interest due to my family members, namely, Sayyidina Abbas bin Abdul Mutallib that is all forgiven and fear Allah with regards to your women. You have made them halal for you with the name of Allah.’ Finally Nabi asked the companions: ‘Have I related the message of Allah to you!?’ They replied: ‘We bear witness you did propogate the message to us, you have related the message of Allah to us.’ Nabi then replied whilst raising his index finger to the skies: ‘O Allah!, be my witness, O Allah!,be my witness¸ O Allah!,be my witness.’ (Sahih Muslim)
Abu Darda’ said: “When the Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam left us, there was not a bird that flies in the sky but that he had given us some knowledge about it.” ( Tabarani in his Mu’jam al-Kabir (2:155 #1647), Imam Ahmad (#20399))
`Amr ibn Akhtab [Abu Zayd] al-Ansari radyAllahu `anh who said: "The Prophet prayed fajr with us then climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for zuhr, then he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for `asr, whereupon he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the sun set.` He informed us about all that was to happen until the Day of Resurrection` The most knowledgeable of us is he who has memorized the most." (muslim)
It is reported by Hazrat Anas bin Malik (radi allahutala anhu), who says: "After the decline of the sun (noon) the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam came out of his Hujrah, and led the Zohr Prayer. After completing the prayer the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) mounted the pulpit and delivered the sermon about the Day of Judgement and the big events that will take place before the advent of the Day. Then addressing the companions he asked them if any one of them had any question to ask from him. He proceeded, 'I swear in the name of Allah, there is nothing that you would ask me and I will not answer it (no query, whatever its nature shall remain unanswered), so long as I am here.'"Hazrat Anas (radi allahutala anhu) reports that on hearing this the companions burst in tears, (for it forbode the grave tidings of his leaving the world). But the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam continued, saying again and again: "Ask me. Ask me (as none after me will tell you).(muslim/bukhari)
It is related by ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:One day while we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothing and his hair was extremely black. There were no signs of travel on him and none of us knew who he was. He proceeded until he sat right in front of the Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam his knees touching the Prophet’s knees and placing his palms on his thighs, he said, “O Muhammad, Inform me about The Islam.” The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “The Islam is to testily that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and that you establish Prayer (Solaat), pay the Obligatory Charity (Zakaat), observe the fast of Ramadan (Saum), and perform Pilgrimage (Hajj) to the House of Allah, if you are able to do so.” (The inquirer) said, “That is correct!” (=You have told the truth). ‘Umar bin AI-Khattab commented, “We were surprised at him, that he would ask the question and then confirm the answer.” (The inquirer) said, “Inform me about Iman (Faith).” Allah’s Messenger replied, “It is that you believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Judgment, and that you believe in “Al-Qadr” (Divine Pre-ordination), the good of it or the bad of it.” (The inquirer) responded, “That is correct!” (=You have told the truth). He then said, “Inform me about Ihsan” (=Beneficence/ Excellence). Allah’s Messenger said, “(It is) That you worship Allah as though you see Him, for though you don’t see Him, (know that) He sees you.” The inquirer said, “Inform me about the hour” (=The final ending of the world, / of the Day of Judgment). The Messenger of Allah remarked, “The one being questioned knows no more than the questioner.” The inquirer said, “Tell me about some of its signs.” He (the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)) said, “(They are) that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress,/ and that you will find barefooted, destitute goat-shepherds vying with one another in the construction of magnificent, tall-buildings.” The narrator, (‘Umar bin Al-Khattab] said, “Then he [the inquirer] went on away, but I stayed with him [Allah’s Messenger] for a while.” He then said to me, “Oh ’Umar! Do you know who the inquirer was?’ I replied, ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He said: ‘It was (the Angel) Gabriel. He came to you [people] in order to teach you your religion.’”(muslim)
