As-Salaam alaikum,
In ayat 268 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an (2:268), Allah Ta'ala says:--
"Shaytan (Satan) threatens you with poverty and bids you
to commit indecency (evil deeds, illegal sexual intercourse,
sins); but Allah promises you His pardon and His bounty.
Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures, All-Knowing."
One of the greatest weapons in Satan's arsenal is to cultivate fear and anxiety in and around us: fear of not being able to live life as we wish, fear of economic hardship and a lessening of income, fear of losing good health, or fear of not doing well in this world if one lives the religious life.
As believers in Allah Ta'ala and the Last Day, we should live our lives in this world with inner sense of peace and tranquility, knowing that all things are in Allah's Hand, and all are unfolding in as per His Divine Plan. And the remedy against Satan and his insidious whispering (waswasah) is to seek refuge in Allah..by reciting/saying: a'uzu Billahi minash-shaytani-r-rajeem.
