Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuJazakhAllah khair for the info! Alhamdulillah, just the other day, I was reading Darood e Ibrahim from the kitab to make sure I knew it word for word without mistakes and I noticed I always say "Sayyedina" and with it not being written in the book I thought I was reciting it incorrectly

When we go for zikr e Darood at my nani's house every thursday, my uncle is very strict on not talking while reciting Darood Sharif, and always told us to pray in silence and with adaab as if Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) is there in the room. We really enjoy it and it has become a must to pray every thursday. They have been doing it for ages, but for us it will be about 9 months now, every thursday, and its a really good atmosphere and really helps us in our lives.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, Masha'Allah, that is beautiful. I think more families should do a similar mehfil, and it is best to start at an early age. I envy you Sr. Hasina and feel a little sad as we don't this. Now that we're all grown up and have responsibilities such as work etc, I think it would be difficult to get my Brothers together for a mehfil. But I guess we could always start with the women....my mum, myself and my bhabhis. Perhaps we can even get the children involved and teach them the importance of reciting Durood. Anyways, a fantastic thread Sr. Ashiqe Rasool. Just one question, you say Wudhu is a 'pre-condition', but we are allowed to prayer durood without wudhu, right?? And what about women who are on their menses?? I'm sure Durood it is one of the few things that us women are allowed to recite when in the state of menstruation.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuYou are right sister Tasleem, I have always been led to believe and thought that you can pray Darood Sharif without wudu, and can be prayed at our monthly cycle. Imam Sahib has confirmed that as well. On this article I got from my fav magazine Siratul Mustaqeem, thats what it said. WE know that cleanliness is half of our Imaan, and living in cleanliness and a state of wudu is very desirable, also we know that darood sharif must be highly respected, so out of respect and love for our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) even in our state of menses why not be in the state of wudu all the time. As for the weekly zikr, sister i recommend it, it really is beneficial, and very spiritual enhanced. The men are all family, and all the kids as well as the ladies take part and the atmosphere is one to be experienced. Its always after maghrib prayers, and at the end fateha is prayed and the darood Sharif is presented to Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam)as a gift along with a special sweet dish. Its very family orientated and bonds the whole family together in love and spiritually.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuA beautiful thread. When we go to our majlees, we have to be pak and alot of attar and rose water is used in the rooms, and we get told to sit with adaab as if Rasoolullah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) is present and listining, Even the children sit quietly. We are going again tonight. I love the atmosphere.
