Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I am confused. Is this not the same channel Pir Munnawar Shah Jmati was going to be launched!
The more Islamic channels the better, esp sunni ones.
If its succesful then maybe DM Islam might get its act together?

I also saw many sunni scholars, this is global across the Muslim world so I think we can expect to see sunni, wahabbis, doebandis, shias and other scholars

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuWell were still waiting for a 100% pakka Sunni channel. QTV is the closest but they still have Zakir Naik and Dr Israr Ahmed so theyre not 100% and DM floats between Sunni, shia, and deobandi whenever it suits them.

The danger of seeing a Sunni Scholar sat in a tv studio on a regular slot with heretical molvis can be damaging. Many weak sunnis will say if our learned men can sit, chat and shake hands then why cant we? And if the beliefs are so opposing and we lable them as insulters of our Blessed Prophet then why associate and sit with them in the first place discussing Islam generally.
Maybe if our Scholars sat and shared studios and talked about our differences and why we are Sunnis and they are Wahabi, Maudoodi, Shia, Qadyani or deobandi and debated and then let the public question and decide.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuI came across this channel yesterday whilst i was flicking through the channels. I think its best to give the channel a chance to prove itself to us. The message of the channel is unity

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuWell said brother. I agree with you 100%. I feel that by having Chanel's like this, will only confuse our youngsters, who for so long we have told to stay away from wahabbi's deoband shia sects. If they see a channel promoting unity and scholars from all aqeedah's praying together on television, then they will only think it right further along the line to pray in the wahabbi/deoband mosque. or go to speeches and functions held. This is how they corrupt and trap our innocent youth and our weak brothers and sisters. It might offend but its true!!!! Had too many experiences in Leicester, and have lost many a friend to their devious ways. What this channel is promoting is unity OK fair enough but are they prepared to put aside their gustakhi strong beliefs ? Only then can unity be gained, my advice is I would stay clear of such channels, and only stick to the 100% Ahl e Sunnah channels. Just my humble view! Thought I'd put it across.

The so called 'islamic channels' should be viewed in the same way as internet 'islamic' sites. Using the words 'islam/sunni/muslim' deviant groups seek to spread their version of Islam and we should be very wary of them.
Even the so called sunni channels allow people of other sects to preach and spread their message such as QTV with the ogre like dr israr - he has darkness in him and not a drop of noor on his face. Forget learning tafsir from him, we should be shielding our eyes from such an awful sight.
And some of the so called scholars on TV who are genuinely sunni don't know their facts. Last night on DM Islam channel, a Molvi or whatever he was on a programme about Shab e Barat but was saying what a great nigh Laylat ul Qadr was and how everyone's sins were going to be forgiven on this blessed night! He then stopped talking (he was actually shouting) and then burst into a bout of 'Allah Hu' and wouldn't stop despite the programme which was live continuing!
Those sat around him looked utterly perplexed - I'm not surprised because they must have been thinking that if it was Laylat ul Qadr last night, there were in trouble as they hadn't fasted for the past 26 odd days and missed most of Ramadan!!!!!

Isnt it possible that he made a mistake, he was on live tv and instead of shab e barat, he said qadr ? As for the zikr, he was obviously in a state of wahjud thats why he couldnt stop. We should respect the ulama of ahle sunnat and not be too easy to pick faults. Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
