Amir Khan Wins 5th Bout, in 75 Seconds 01.28.2006, 06:38 PM Associated Press
Amir Khan posted the quickest victory of his professional career when he knocked out Vitali Martynov after 75 seconds to win his fifth lightweight bout on Saturday. Rated the best boxing prospect in Britain since Lennox Lewis, Khan fired a straight right through the guard of the 22-year-old Belorussian, who won 10 of his previous 11 fights - seven by knockout.
Although Martynov got to his feet, referee Terry O'Connor waved an end to the scheduled six-rounder as Khan, the Athens Olympic silver medalist, took another step toward what he hopes will be a world title.
"I can feel myself getting a lot stronger," Khan said. "I trained very hard for it and I'm a bit upset it finished in the first round. I didn't even get hit in that fight. "I would have liked to have shown a bit more of myself but it's the way the fight went."

As much as i am pleased Amir Khan won, but the guy he was fighting looked a right mug and i have never seen anyone more nervous going into the ring than him ? He did look a bit twitchy, but he had a good record 7 knockouts and only 1 defeat out of 12 is not bad. But definetly not in Amirs league.

He is professional beyond his years. He trains hard takes his fitness very seriously, puts in overtime at the gym and even trains with Bolton Wanderers FC, this is the right attitude for the young boxer, he truly is thrill to watch.
