Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
There is a lot of controversy surrounding Dr Tahir ul Qadri, i personally believe he is Sunni. But I have heard he has declared it permissable to pray jamaat with deobandis.
So what is your verdict ? is it ok to listen to his speeches and what if he came to our masjid can we pray namaz behind him ?

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Beloved Messenger, Our Last Prophet of Islam Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam).Jazak'Allah for your question. First of all, Dr. Tahir ul Qadri happens to be from the Orthodox Sunni 'Ulama'. He also happens to be an 'alim, as well as a politician, a doctor, and a professor. There are not many people who have not only the worldly sciences, but also the religious qualifications. There is nothing of valid proof that has come to my recognition, in relation to Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, that states that he has either prayed salah behind an Imam who is Deobandi, or whether he himself is in support of the Deobandis. Dr. Tahir ul Qadri, happens to be a good orator, and lecturer, who speaks his mind on issues such as the greatness of the saints, on the excellences of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam), and upon the Noble Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam). There is nothing in his speeches that claim, anything which may render salah being made void, behind him. Nor is it permissable, that such claims be made, rendering the rest of the public in feeling curious or uneasy about him. If there is a group of people, or an individual that claims certain issues, it is for him/ them, to provide the proof, in order to convince everybody else that what the Dr. has said, or what he has done, is wrong. This is just a means of mischief, the Qur'an al kareem says: 'al fitnatu ashaddu minal qatl'
'fitnah (mischief), is more severe than killing'. This means that those people who are making mischief, are committing a more graver crime than killing, when they speak ill about a Sunni 'Alim, who is totally innocent, as they fail to provide the proof of his misconduct. The law will always stand to punish those who create such mischief, but when will such people ever realise, the burden of accusing someone, who is deemed to be innocent until proven guilty? May Allah the Almighty save all of us from worldly accusations that are false and baseless, and may He keep us all on the straight path, in compliance with the Qur'an al kareem, and the Most Beloved Messenger of Islam (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam).Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM.
