Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa SallamJazak'allah for your question. In making the taqlid (conforming) of an Imam, a person can only follow one Imam. What happens if there is a difference of opinion between the two Imams regarding a singular issue? Does the person have the ability to pick and chose whoever he likes from the Imams? No he doesnt. The seperate rulings for an issue can differ from Imam to Imam. I hope that this brief explanation is a guide for you, and that you understand why we cannot follow two Imams. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
