assalm u alikum i have read and heard abt the great reward of dua in the afterlife and also that the reward will be so big that ppl will wish their duas had not been answered in this world, i was hoping to knw that wat abt the duas that are answered in this life are we not going to have any reward for those and while one is supplicating should one wish that these duas be answered because the yaqeen that ur duas will be answered is the basic requirement when praying to allah. some times it is said that allah does not answers ur duas if they are not good for you i again think that we cannot tell if sumthng is good or bad for us and only allah knws that. . . .then again when we are praying we have to have the yaqeen that allah will answer our prayers then ........how can we have the yaqeen if we dont knw wat we are asking for is good or bad for us? i must sound very confused but these issue have confused me a lot, kindly help me clear these concepts. jazakallah

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam What you intend is either good or bad. You cant make a du'a for a bad deed, nor can you not make a du'a for a good deed. You have to do both! If Allah the Almighty knows that you will not benefit from a certain deed, he doesnt let it happen for you, no matter how often you ask him. You wont know why its not working out for you, but Allah the Almighty will. This is the wisdom behind him not accepting your prayers so that you do not fall into detriment, after asking for it. I hope you understand what I have quoted. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
