I have been eating penguine biscuits throughout school and college assuming they are halaal. However that is nothing to go by, could you forward us the ingridients of the chocolate bar and perhaps we can all do a bit of research and come up with a suitable answer.

The reason I was unable to supply the ingredients is because on the packet it does state suitable for vegetarians and I have requested a ingredients list from the manufacturer Mcvities and inshallah once I receive it I shall let all you penguin chocolate lovers know whether it is haraam or halal.
Jazakallah

Hi,
Assalamu alaikum.
In answer to your question 'are penguin bars halal?' I contacted United Biscuits; the company now over the penguin bars in the United Kingdom and they stated ''We can confirm that although we don't use any alcohol in any of our penguin bars; we cannot be certain of the cream used in penguin bars and some of our other bars as the cream is manufactured by a different manufacturer''. I then replied back to them to find out the details of this manufacturer and they stated ''unfortunately, we cannot provide you with such details due to indulging in to their confidentiality. However, if you Google 'ethanol' you should find some interesting facts about it''
Based on this information alone; I would definitely declare penguin bars and the other chocolate bars or biscuits containing this same cream as haram, why else would United Biscuits have bought up the subject of ethanol in the first place - and Allah knows best.
Take care and stay safe, insha Allah.

Assalamu alaikum
I forgot to mention on my other post; McVities is actually a jewish company supporting the Israeli illegal settlement in Palestine. So, you may all want to consider boycotting this company anyway, along with Jacobs, Nestle and some other companies. And Allah knows best.
Take care, enjoy your day and stay well, God willing.
