Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam
Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Nowadays, as we all know, Muslims are in the limelight. People wrongfully think that Islam supports terrorism due to various factors such as the media, deviant sects, etc. As a consequence Muslims suffer from different things, for example some Muslims are being denied of getting a job, some schools don't allow wearing the hijab, physical attacks, etc.
This polll is more about the social attacks addressed to you as an individual. Have you ever been bullied outside your home (school/work/market/etc) and how did you react?

Mashallah a great poll brother Haarith especially with the present situation in the Muslim World.
Firstly I would like to apologise I clicked on the wrong option by accident . I was meant to click on No, but will try to discuss things in a kind way and I clicked on
No, but will tease back if it happens to me I would never do this as 2 wrongs never make a right
I have never been bullied for being a Muslim mashallah in Derby we are very Multi cultural/racial and Religious. In fact I get more respect especially since september 11th. Sadly there are many sisters that I know throughout the UK who have faced abuse because they wear hijaab etc so I am lucky to be able to live freely as a Muslim woman without feeling scared etc.
If I did get bullied it would be mainly beacuse these people are ignorant and I would Educate them in a calm and friendly manner as racism/hate/abuse/bullying occurs out of ignorance.
Jazakallah

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam A good poll brother Haarith. I too have never been bullied for being a Muslim, Shukar Almighty Allah but back in Leicester after 9/11 I do know of women who wear spat on and a taxi driver attacked for having a beard because they represented Islam through their dress attire/appearance. I clicked on would try and talk , and make them see and understand the real Islam if I could get them to listen. If I knew the bully, and it happened regularly at work, or school , neighbor , I would ask them first why they hate Islam, and Muslims first and foremost and then try and explain that, what they have heard and read about the Muslims in the media is not the real representation of Islam, and me as a Muslim do not agree with the terrorist or justify their actions and I and the real Islam condemn them. But it could be difficult if it is a stranger and there is more than one of them, if i''m being hurled abused at random, by strangers especially if there are a few of them, talking to them would be the last thing on my mind.

Depends what i mean by bullying. I havent been beaten up.
I was hit on the head once for no reason for simply walking through town, surprisingly no other english person came to help me. I have also been subjected to various anoumt of name calling and the usual abuse.
So yes i have been bullied.

I have been taught that you should always do the exact opposite of what your enemy tells you to do.
Doesnt always work, but tries to lets your dushman think about their evil actions.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuGood poll With a rise in Islamaphobia over the last 6/7 years I would be lying if I said I had not been bullied. Sometimes people dont have to say anything to make you feel un wanted evil looks/and rude whispers do it aswell. At the end of the day I turned away and didnt look to react. After 9/11 some off my non-Muslim freinds alhamdulillah were very understanding and stood loyal.

when someone bullies me I bully them back because I really hate I mean hate the people who bully me about Islam.I just cant stand it when I get bullied so sometimes I use my hands to retaliate.I know its a bad thing to do but I get too angry about these things so may allah make us good people so we dont retaliate

I used to get bullied with names when we used to go to the mosque because we had jubbas on, topi etc and the ghore used to chase us down the road. But it was only when there was 5 or six of them they didnt do it when there was only 2 of them so a lot of it is bravery in fron of their freinds.

A good poll. I have not been bullied, yes the odd stare from non-Muslim parents at playgroup and school but I wouldn't call that bullying.
My husband decided to grow a beard a few years back and he got a few jibes from his workmates and felt that some of them drifted away from him and didn't communicate with him or involve him in conversations, he felt blanked and left out from a few. Nothing was said verbally to his face, and his response to them was well its their loss not his and ignorance on their part.

A good poll.
I voted other. I think things are a bit different here in NZ. From my vague memories of the UK you guys face a different level of racism and prejudice. Being a convert I guess I don't stand out as much as other races so I don't attract as much negative attention. People joke around with me a bit and so long as it doesn't get serious I let it go. I did have one customer at my work who was claiming all Muslims are terrorists etc. Things got quite heated and I lost my cool. I told him to leave the shop and if he never came back I would be happy. He still comes in though. I realised afterwards that I would've been better to have kept my cool, by getting angry I was in a way proving his point.
If ignorant and stupid people hassle me due to their lack of understanding I try to explain things, but some people don't have the intelligence to work things out. They can only see things one way. This doesn't bother me too much.
The way I look at it is you can say whatever you like about me but if you insult Islam or the Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam then watch out. This is where I draw the line.
Intelligent debate is the best approach though I find.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
Alhamdolillah, I have never been teased or bullied at for my religious beliefs, although I have been wearing the hijab for many years now. I think this might have been because Blackburn is predominantly Muslim populated after the majority white population. Now moving to London insha'Allah I don't think I'll have any problems as the communities here are so diverse and totally multi-cultural.
But if someone was to shout verbal abuse at me in the street I'd probably ignore them and carry on walking. If at the workplace, I'd try and talk to them about the real Islam - not the one represented so poorly by the media.

Its not worth the aggro of having bruises and being in spit if you try to argue back.
Allah rewards those who turn away from those zalim.

I am surprised not more than 58% have not sufferred from 'bullying' one form or another. Remember bullying isnt just phsically, it could be any of these.
Such anti-muslim prejudice and racism may take the form of
name-calling;
offensive "jokes";
verbal assault;
graffiti;
intimidation;
exclusion;
physical assault.
