Unfortunately many non-Muslims have a negative image of Islam. In order to replace this negative image with a postive one, what do you think Muslims need the most in this time and age?

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam A great Poll!!! I would love to click on better Unity but I know we could never unite with deviant beliefs that go out side the fold of Islam. I don’t think we need more Mosques. I nearly voted for education centres, yes they would be good for the Sunni Muslims but what about the non-Muslims, how would they get an insight into the centres if they don’t attend and how would they benefit, and see a positive message from this. Not a lot if they don’t attend. Same with the Dawah centres. As for better leadership, if there is no unity among the leaders then that wouldn’t work, as everybody would want to be ahead of every other leader and there would be conflict to bring the other down. All inner Politics. So I opted for Other.. I personally think, if each and every one followed the Sunnah and Implemented it in our life’s daily then through our character and personality and actions we can reflect the positive message and the true message of Islam across to the non-Muslim world. So called Muslims have given Islam a bad name through their actions and character and what they have said and done, and Only we Muslims can turn it right, again through our actions. Through ethics and Moral virtues, if we all acted upon the teachings of the Glorious Quran and the beautiful Hadith Shareef, then not only do we discipline the moral aspects of our life but also portray the message of love and peace which Islam stands for. If we arm our selves with the Noble qualities of our Beloved Prophet Sayyedina Muhammad Mustufa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallamand implement them and emulate them in our daily life’s, like straightforward dealings, Noble deeds, honesty, justice, kindness respect for others, forgiveness fulfilment of promise, generosity, contentment, courage, patience and perseverance modesty humility equality, love and brotherhood of mankind, piety etc… with other people as well as with ourselves in our duties towards our creator our Lord Almighty Allah. Faith is the matter of the heart and soul, while morality is concerned with the external ways of conducting oneself. Morality shall always be reflective of the faith, whatever type it is.

i think we need more mosques bigger and better with more rooms for da youngsters We dont need new mosques, maybe one or two masjids need improving to bring them inline in terms of facilities for women. But i think a combination of all the options you have mentioned in the Poll are needed. We do need a strong and firm voice that will appeal to the youth, the elders, sisters and muslims of all backgrounds and cultures. We do need to unite amongst the sunnis, starting with our ulema then maybe we can start thinking about the other objectives of uniting. I think with leadership all the other things will fall into place. At the moment we seem to be pulling in different directions and each mosque or tariqah of each town doing their own thing. But this will of course mean a shift towards a political platform, a road i dont see any of our ulama wanting to or able to go down ? A good poll, brother, gives us something to think about, if and when were in positions of power.

A good poll brother Haarith
I voted for more better leadership, that is from Muslim countries to leaders in the Mosque! If we had more stronger leaders in the Muslim countries throughout the World the oppressors of Islam would maybe think twice Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala knows best.

This is a really good poll. I agree with sister A.R. and brother Hafeez. Its ok saying we will have more education centres and better leaddership if we the public dont change. The leadership could be great , but only the muslims would see this. The Muslim people have to change and practice the sunnah and show others, this is what islam is about and this is what islam teaches us and this how we live it. Our leaders can say anything in their speeches but if dont practice it it is of no use. The message is to get it across to the non muslim community and this has to come from the muslim people.

I disagree with most of you. I voted for more dawah centres.
Bring about more dawah and into the open will help many non muslims and born muslims to establish their roots again. Lack of education is the reason why we havent progressed. Just opening new darul ulums isnt going to solve anything too. We need to have more muslims interested by reaching out to them by giving dawah and then giving them the confidence to give dawah. This would emphasise the truth and peace of Islam to all those with biased opinions from the media and journalists.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuI voted for more Dawah centres. This is how we should get the message accross to the Non Muslim. Open our doors and invite them in, not only with the intention of drawing people to Islam but to increase understanding. On saying that the Dawah centres need to be 100% Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat with good literature etc... In English or whatever language is spoken in the country. Here in NZ the only Dawah centres are run by Wahabi's and funded by Saudi through corrupt groups. This results in spreading misguidance Insha Allah I hope to be able to change this one day. Sr. Ashiq e Rasool raises a good point though, being that if we all practiced our religion to the best of our ability and followed the Sunnah of Our Beloved Messenger Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam then people would be drawn towards Islam naturally. After all this is how Islam was originally spread if I'm not mistaken. Another thing which goes against us is the reporting in the media. I mean to say we have good, strong Sunni leaders who are overlooked. I don't think you can say we need stronger leaders as I'm sure you'd all agree within the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat we have excellent leaders. But how can we get their message into the mainstream, when the media prefers reporting only bad news? I get upset when I hear non Muslims say "If Islam is against terrorism then why don't we hear any of the leaders saying it?" I know for a fact they say it it just doesn't get reported Fi Amanillah

What we need the most to help get us the true message across is a better understanding of Islam more than anything else. We have to raise awareness much more than what is being done, and not relying on other people as usual. But us, me and you, getting off our backsides and sitting down AND TACKLING THE ISSUES.
Until that happens, the stereotypes and the media image will not be changed.
