Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Hope all are well?? I was wondering what others thought and knew about 10 Bibi Ki Kahani (hazrat fatima Radi Allahu anhu kahani)??
I got invited to one over the weekend I could not go because my hubby came back, but I was not sure whether to go in the first place.
All I knew was ten women got together and one woman would read out the story to these women and would make 10 ladoo (sweet roti balls) and they would do a khatam and eat these ladoo amongst other food. I have attended khatam where women are reading surah yasin etc. I would like to know what Islam says about this??? my father said it was wrong to attend these mehfils but I did not have time to ask/challenge him on Islamic grounds etc.
So does any other sister/brother have an Islamic view regarding this???
Jazakallah khair

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Yes its true, this gathering is an old traditional one, and just because we may not have read or heard about it before doesnt necessarily mean its not permissible.
If i can also point out, one should only pray 'das Bibi ki kahani' at specific times of need, like extreme poverty, hardship, stress etc and not as a social event gathering. Everything is laid out and decided for a reason.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuFirst of all I would like to put across the true enlightment of 10 bibi ki kahani, there is absoulutely nothing wrong in praying these kahani's there are a form of manat, and wasila, for our dua's prayers and wishes to be answered. I am very surprised./shocked that any Sunni or representative of the ahl e sunnah would say other wise, only the deoband, wahabi and tablighi have dismissed them and said they are biddat. I have prayed them and so have my mother and grandmother, and women in the family. There is not only ten bibi ki kahani but also numerous pious sayedah's (Radi Allahu anha) stories'. Das bibi ki kahani are all our beloved Prophet's (alayhis 'salam)wives and Mother of Islam who will take us women into Jannat, the Pious Women of Paradise! The women of Islam! Starts of with Hadrat Maryam (mary) (Radi Allahu anha) Hadrat Isa (alayhis 'salam) ((JESUS) How a a woman was in trouble and Hadrat Maryam (Radi Allahu anha) came in her dream and told the woman to read her's and other sayedah 's (Radi Allahu anha) stories and make niyas in the form of ladoo from wheat flour and then give fateha. At that time we have to remember that only wheat flour was available and she was told to make sweet with wheat flour and sugar.
" Kaalaal-Laaho tabaarakaa vata-aalaa yaa Maryamoo in-nal-Laaha tahan-haraa kava astaafeek alan-neesaa-eel aalameen."
"Parvar deegaare aalam Koor-ane paak me eershaad farmaataa hay Ay maryam! Toomko khuda ne Brgoozeedaa keeya: Aur tamam goonah aur booraayee oonse paak saaf rakhaaa; aur saare jahaaki Aurtome choon leeeyaa toom ko. " Are you denying this.?
If we don't know then we must first seek knowledge and guidence before dismissing! The wahabi's say or our elders had no knowledge therefore did these ritulas and customs. Do we have more knowledge than the pious and Ahl e Bait. Astagfirullah!
I know all of these kahani's are in urdu and gujrati and the younger generation have not heard of them, but believe me they have been read from the time of the pious Sayedah (Radi Allahu anha). I have them in english but they read out in urdu, and was going to post them as sisters have asked for them, but they are long and I need time insha Allah I will do it sooner rather than later as now I see it as a duty , to banish the myths and contradictions surrounding them.
We pray nifal namaz then darood sharif then one lady will read while the others listen, the beautiful true story of Sayedah bibi fatima (Radi Allahu anha) our beloved Prophet Sayedina Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) daughter , the kahani tells us what to pray and what to make and within 10 days the muraad (wish ) will be fulfiled. then fatiha is prayed on the sweets and food prepared then finished of with darood sharif. Insha Allah only when the wish is fulfilled is the kahani read and the fatiha held. The kahanis are chatpat Moorad bibi ki kahani. (Radi Allahu anha) E Ajaaze sayedah yaane janab sayedah ki kahani. (Radi Allahu anha) Seerate bibi nafeesa taheraha ki kahani (Radi Allahu anha) And many more. The intention is made to pray a kahani and get women together and spread the beautiful stories of the Ahl-e bait (sayedah) (Radi Allahu anha) and to distribute the sweet niyas after praying fatiha. This intention is then only carried out when the wish is fulfilled. The reward is in it self, the ladies are spreading Islam and educating other women about the beautiful daughters and wives and other pious women by relating True stories to them. Nifal salaat and darood sharif is offered as well as Surahs and fatiha, where is the bidah in that? Where or what is wrong in that,? The need is there to pray more and enlighten our younger sisters. (1)Hadrat Maryam Sayedah (Radi Allahu anha) (2)Shahzadee Hadrat Sayedah Taherah Fatima Zohraa (Radi Allahu anha) the key for women to paradise, the leader and first women to enter jannat, the beloved daughter of our beloved Prophet Sayedina Muhammad (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) (3) Hadrat Sairaa (Radi Allahu anha) (4)Hazrat Asiya (Radi Allahu anha) (5)Hadrat hajra (Radi Allahu anha) (6) Hadrat Zaynab (Radi Allahu anha) (7)Hadrat Soogra (Radi Allahu anha) (8)Hadrat Koobra (Radi Allahu anha) (9(9) Janab Omme kulsoom (Radi Allahu anha) (10)Hadrat Shakeena (Radi Allahu anha) these are the 10 pious women of islam that the kahani (story)is told, stories of heroism patience and struggle in the path of Islam.
Thereare numerous other kahani's these I have, Chatpat Moorad bibi ki kahani. (Radi Allahu anha) E Ajaaze sayedah yaane janab sayedah ki kahani. (Radi Allahu anha) Seerate bibi nafeesa taheraha ki kahani (Radi Allahu anha) And many more. Das (ten) Bibi (Radi Allahu anha)ki kahani. A lesson for all women, sisters daughters of our generation and after, stories which I feel every mother should pass on to her daughters. Sisters please be vary of wahabi websites and links and please explore these stories to gain knowledge and insight into the True Real Islam.

Well all i can say now, is that i am confused, .... not wanting to go against Ameer-e-Ahle Sunnat Maulana Ilyas Qadri sahib, but i wonder where this particular kahani started from, ...what was the original source ?
It would be interesting to see if there was any reference to this in any old ibadah literature ?
Allah knows best

It would be interesting to see if there was any reference to this in any old ibadah literature ? Allah knows best There are numerous books and the tayibah written of these kahani's, this question was also asked in Qtv and the Imam said where in the Quran and hadith sharif does it say not to pray or tell these stories, find me proof first, then we will stop. These are stories of the pious women of Islam what more do you need for refrences as there are numerous Hadith shareef' narrating the stories and books on Islam narrating these stories, where does it say do not read these stories it is bidah. Any mehfil where islam and stories of any sayedah's (Radi Allahu anha) and sahabah (Radi Allahu anhu) are told how can they be wrong?

Jazakallah Sister Ashiq E Rasool, your name does you justice, when sister nomee first mentioned it, it sounded right to me, and knew there had to be a great reason behind this, thank you for explaning it so well.
My mum is a true and genuine lover of the Ahle Bait, and to her Hazrat Bibi Fatima, there is no comparison to any other woman. But I don't know if my mum knows about this, whether she has done this before but I know its something she definetely be more then happy to do, any possibility you could send everything one needs to know on this (in urdu) so that she can pass it on to her sisters and get involved in this? if its not available via email/internet please let me know where I could get a copy of this.

The brother's who translated them are well known in Leicester and respected and also members of the committee of conduit street mosque, and a pillar of the Sunni society in Leicester, You will definitely know them.
