Salam Moyeen, first of all thanks for providing this service to us, we are grateful for your advice and knowledge.
Mine is a simple question. I have a lot of used full floppy disks, how do i clear them and put new material on them.
In simple terms please.

Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
OK what you want to do is format your floppy disks.
To do this put your disk into your floppy drive
Open 'My computer'
You should see the floppy drive icon (usually labeled as 'A' drive)
Right click it and select the format option
A window will appear, just click the quick format button and your done!
Please post back if you have any problems.

yes it is but floppy discs are gradually being phased out, we are now entering the era of usb flash disk drives which can be the size of little pens.
There are now even external hardrives available that are the size of credit cards and can hold upto 160GB!
Floppies are gone just like Zipdrives even Dell computers don't come with floppy drives as standard anymore!

yes, but could you tell me how to save on floppy as i cant afford to change my pc just yet. I dont think you have to change your pc as long as you have a usb port you can get usb memoery sticks for as little as £10 and they last way longer than floppies and are like a billion times faster cos the memory is electronic rather than magnetic (which is what floppies are). Anyway if you want to save to floppy just right click the file you want to save. Then select send to, and from there click the 'A: 3 1/2 floppy' Thats it its done.
