Assalamu Alaikum You may have heard about this latest offer from Talktalk on the news. It costs for £20.99 per month, which is inclusive of line rental (£11) and for the remaining £9.99, you get free calls to landlines locally, nationally, and to 28 certain countries worldwide. And on top of this you get upto 8Mb Broadband too. does anyone know of a catch to this besides the 18 months contract? www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-LLU-PageServer?article=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.STATIC.TESTHUB

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
It seems everyone is following the same vane as the mobiles by giving you a lot more, i think the 18 month contract has something to do with this, but i could be wrong?
Are Pakistan/India included in the 28 countries elible worldwide ...

We dont utilise the home line phone that much, and get a card for calls back home, so it wouldnt be that beneificial for me. But i can see how it could benefit others.

i see what you mean from the telephone usage point of view.
i was looking at it from the broadband perspective. you have to pay the £11 line rental anyway, so in effect you would only pay £9.99 per month for local and national calls and for upto 8meg broadband.
personally, i think its a good deal. i was wondering if anyone knew of any downsides to this deal.

I dont think there is a catch but make sure you read the small print. I saw the advert it seems ok I talk too much on the phone so it may beneficial to me. You get broadband free so you could all be on the forum all day Ring the company phone number is 0800 049 1002 and ask about any catches etc and let us all know Jazakallah
