Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Right ive been on IE6 for some time now, and im tired of people harping on about Mozilla Firefox browser ... whats so good about it ?
What are the real benifits of changing my browser, and wont it slow things down (from what others have told me) ?

I installed firefox and used it for a few days but then uninstalled because it was slower. It does have a few gadgets in it like a download manager and page tabbing etc which i did'nt need. One of the main things being promoted about firefox (over IE) is its security but if you watch the news you'll find that it also had a security flaw for which everyone using firefox was advised to download security patches (same thing happens with IE too). Personally, i didn't think there was an advantage using firefox, i think its become popular because people are sympathetic to the Open Source cause and being more critical towards Microsoft because of it monopoly over pc users. Maybe other users have different experiences and views which will help br qadiri ashrafi decide. But i'd suggest "try it and see"

Theres not much difference once you balance out the pro's and con's for example, although Firefox is supposedly more secure it doesnt have a lot of the plugins that IE comes with and you have to download and install a lot of them.

Opera is quick but then its all the same. Just that one uses open source code and the other monopolises the pc industry.
I use IE though myself.
