The increase in merging of communications device and computing has meant that the world has become ever smaller. Telephones are controlled by computers, sort of like networks, where the computer will choose the best path for the phone call to take and connect you across the globe in minutes.
But, that has been going on for years, more recent technology has meant that we can now talk across the globe for free. This technology is called VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol. With the increase in numbers of people using computers, using VOIP software such as SKYPE, will connect you to your cousin in China for nothing more than your internet bill.
But thats not all, have you seen the way mobile phones have developed? The minitiarisation of many computer components has meant that mobile phones become mini computers with powerful processors, memory and peripherals. The technology is now available that will allow you to pay for your weekly groceries or a drink from a vending machine using your mobile phone, its known in the business world as m-commerce or Mobile Commerce.
So what do you think of all this technology? Will you pay for a coke can with you phone? Would you love to talk for hours with you family for nothing? Or do you hate all technology and think a man on a horse with a letter is the best form of long distance communication? Share your thoughts?

I think we need to embrace technology and take advantage of it. Almost everything nowadays is technology driven and its certainly going to be developed even further.
Ordering a coke can with a mobile phone may seem like a ridiculous scenario at the moment, but it wouldn't surprise me if it became a reality fairly soon at the rate technology is progressing. After all, it's possible to order pretty much anything over the phone and internet already.

Technology is moving at a rapid pace day by day its really hard to take it in at times. Come to think of if 5 years ago some said "hey you would be able to make a video of someone on your mobile phone!!!" we would be telling then to remain quiet.
I support technology one the bases that it brings many benefits to human civilsation. I.e Technology has helped find medical break-throughs which enable ill people to get better. We have to remain open minded in this age of technology i suppose

I dont think thats too far bro ahmad. The technology is presently available and its not too far before people can have the choice of having a chip implemented into the top of the hand. This chip will be sort of like an ID card, Oyster Card, LIbrary card, Credit/debit card, all in one. So if you want to pay by card you have to swipe your hand on the chip readers. Still it would encourage thieves to start choppping hands off!!!!
