Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu I like the idea of this new board, maybe we could all learn a few tips off each other ? Exotic foods ..my hubby's always asking me to experiment, i used to do a lot of different types of cooking but time, chores and kids thankfully put paid to that idea . But i am always on the lookout for something a lil bit different. A lof the times, my food ends up as a curried stew after i start being adventurous, lol.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu. I can't cook im afraid but once my mum had gone to my grans early morning as my gran was not well, anyways she ended up staying all day. When i got back from college there was no food and my mum had left me a note to make something, anything and feed my bro and sis. The best thing i could make was eggs with chilli and onion with bread. i think i put too much chilli in and my brother was in tears . So its a good idea, maybe I can learn from you all.

I would spend a bit of time with your mum and you'll be alright, we;ve all managed somehow.

Roast lamb chops Chops marinate them in soya sauce squeeza fresh lemon over them add tandoori masala add meat tenderiser, put them in the baking tray cover with foil and put the tray in the oven and let them cook for about 3 hours, you can use tikka boti masala instead of the tandoori masala I also made halal turkey stuffed it with fresh ginger garlic chillies and onions. Marinated it with fresh lemon juice chopped onions garlic ginger tomotoes and also added tandoori masala and it was nice the whole family was invited to taste it yum yum

I love cooking and trying out new recipes and experimenting. But like sister Muslimah said i too some times get carried away and add a few extra ingredients. I love watching cookery programmes as well. The one I'm hooked on at the moment is Master chef, its doing its rounds on BBC2 at the moment, at 6:30pm. Here is a recipie I got from one of those programmes. Morrocan Lamb1lb of Minced lamb. Put in a saucepan and add chopped onion and stir until the meat browns. Add salt and pepper, red chillies and a teaspoon of sugar, and 1 table spoon of tomato puree. Keep stirring frequently then add 200ml water and put the lid on and let simmer. Cut peppers and add to the mixture along with a can of drained chick peas and simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve immediately with couscousor rice and a sprinkling of fresh copped coriander. Happy cooking!

Morrocon Lamb. Hmmmm, sounds delicious. I've never tried cooking 'exotic' dishes but would love to learn a few so that I could impress the in-laws. ;D Keep the recipes coming sisters!
