Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti Radi Allahu anhu occupies a prominent place among the spiritual Healers of the world.
In his temperament as in the circumstance of his life Khwaja Sahib was destined for an extra ordinary career.
Into a tottering civilization, fraught with material acquisition, which guaranteed no safety to human life and which conferred no spiritual freedom on human beings he burst forth all the masterful force of his personality, There is a complete blending of greatness and grace, mediation and action precept, practice, indifference of the mystic and idealism of a Saint.
He stands for all that is true, Beautiful and Noble..
He is a SYMBOL OF LOVE, HARMONY AND TRUTH.
The sources of this power may be traced to his own exceptional endowments.
Throughout his life, he exhibited the noble traits of character so peculiar to the house of Prophet Mohammed Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam to which he belonged.

My personal recollections of Ajmer Shareef are not very good as i was quite small with my parents.(around mid 80's)
We went to Ajmer Shareef for zyarat during the Urs of Khawja saheb and stayed at Sayed Aziz Rahman Burraqui with many other pilgrims. There were Muslims from every part of the world,USA,Indonesia,S.Africa,Pakistan as well as all parts of India.
The biggest surprise was the number of Hindu's and Sikhs (and possible other religions )who also came to receive blessings and to pray for their loved ones.
This is the power and empathy of Khwaja Saheb who was a true sufi saint of the highest calibre-totally devoted to Prophet Muhammad (sallal allahoalaihi wasallam ) and the almighty Allah the most compassionate the most merciful.

As some of my memories come back to me, the only down side of that trip was the amount of poor, and crippled people there were. There were literally hundreds lining up every street and back street- it was very difficult.

On his way to Ajmer and passing through Afghanistan, Hadrat Khwaja Mu'inuddin Chisti's (radi Allahu anhu) spiritual impact converted the notorious and cruel Yadgar Muhammad into one of Hadrat Khwaja Mu'inuddin's (radi Allahu anhu) devoted Mureeds.
Yadgar Muhammad did not previously recognise and respect the first three Caliphs of Islam, neither had he any respect for Sufis nor for any holy saints. Now, after meeting Hazrat Khwaja Saheb (radi Allahu anhu), Yadgar Muhammad repented and distributed his wealth to the poor and needy, divorced his many wives, freed all his slaves and renounced the world. He stayed and travelled with his Murshid.
Subhanallah.

Ajmer was established in the early seventh century, after the Sultanate fell into the hands of Sultan Mohammed Ghori.A tall fort (India's first hill fort)was constructed on a hill which was named Ajaimeru meaning invincible hill. This was later named Taragah and is symbolic as Khawaja Saheb outwitted a hindu yogi for spiritual power and mysticism. This yogi later succumbed and happily embraced Islam.
