Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhuyes our beloved Sheikh was born in Cyprus. Cyprus is split into two, half Greek Cyprus and half Turkish, and there blessed dergah is in Lefke the turkish side which is obviously full of Turkish "Muslims" mostly non practicing muslims, but the Turks who do practice religion are mostly in Naqshbandi tariqa and followers of Moulana Sheikh Nazim, but once you reach to the blessed dergah and meet fellow mureeds you see Muslims of all colours races an ages, when i went , there was fammilys from Argentina, Africa, sri lanka, Jamaica , Syria, Palastine, Morroco, Indoneasia , Iran, Germany, America etc, basically you get to meet people from all over the world, all there for the great sufi master, language can be a problem but the peace of mind, and the love everyone shows each other is unbeatable, all swimming in Moulanas oceans of love, so many people there yet so peacefull, as you would get in any blessed dergah in the world, also there are quite a few important Ziarats in Cyprus which suprised me, u have The Mosque of Umm Haram or the Hala Sultan Tekke, as it is known, Hala Sultan (Umm Haram) Radi Allahu anha was the Prophet Muhammad’s Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam‘ wet-nurse’. This Mosque named after her, lies in a serene and picture perfect setting on the shores of the Larnaca Salt Lake, beautifull place, with so much peace, also you have 7 sahabas Radi Allahu anhu burried there also in such a beautifull setting, at the side of the sea, then you also have the tomb of St Barnabas who was one of Isa'a alayhis 'salam close disciples, and denied the crucfixtion and also his body was so fresh after they dug it up after so many years, (long story) then you also have alot of ottaman history in Cyprus, very old and realy big churches and castles that got took over in the ottaman times and are now mosques, going there can realy be an intresting little trip, cant wait to Inshallah go again, sorry for the long reply, i got carried away
