Though i agree with all the members and would also like to contribute to this thread i would just like to say that we all have to be particularly careful when writing in praise of the Awliya Allah that we use the right words and have them checked if not sure, as we are under world scrutiny and most importantly we should remember that we will be answerable for over implying words, titles or phrases. Though we are writing in our own words we have to adhere and stick to the titles that have been used and accepted by our pious predecessors, and the titles that are usually known, common and associated with a particular personality. to quote one particular post ...
I would ask our most respected 'fana fil Shaykh' if the above terminology is permissible or can it not be constituted or interpreted as dwelling on the borders of Shirk? and which Awliya Allah is it referring to? When i read the above some of the words in my mind seem to praise Almighty Allah, some in Praise of Huzoor Nabi Pak Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam and some in praise of Hazrat Gawth al Azam Radi Allahu anhu.
I apologise to all in particular the member who made the post for my intention is not to offend but to clear the misconception that can arise. May Allah by the wasila of All His true and sincere servants and friends give us the virtues to accept our errors and the courage to point each others errors out with out needing to ridicule but with sincerety and humility.

Imam 'Abdallah al-Haddad Rehmatullahi ’Alaih was the renewer, or Mujaddid, of the twelfth Islamic century. He was renowned, and deservedly so, for the breadth of his knowledge and his manifest sanctity. He was born in Tarim, in the hills of Hadramaut.
His lineage is traced back to the Prophet, may blessings and peace be upon him, and his family, through Imam al-Husayn. His illustrious ancestors, the 'Alawi sadat, had for centuries produced generation after generation of great scholars, gnostics, and summoners to the Straight Path.
Imam al-Haddad Rehmatullahi ’Alaih passed away on the eve of the seventh of Dhu'l-Qa'da, 1132 A.H. having spent his life bringing people to their Lord through his oral and written teaching, and his exemplary life. He was buried in a simple grave in the cemetary at Tarim.

Vision of Hazrat Nizamuddin Awliya
Gisu Daraz Rehmatullahi ’Alaih has also said that his shaykh Nasiruddin Cheragh Rehmatullahi ’Alaih of Delhi has told this:
“I was 12 years old when I had learnt the Qur’an by heart and when I had read ‘The Five Treasures’ and the ‘Stations’ of Hariri. I was considering to become a disciple of shaykh Ruknuddin. He was an uncle from my mother’s side who had been a disciple of shaykh ul-Islam Nizamuddin. I was teaching the sons (of shaykh Ruknuddin). One day a student asked if you have to put your knees or your hands first on the floor when prostrating during the prayers. I had not yet studied religious sciences, so I was unable to answer his question. As I did not want to say so, I told him that I would consult a certain book first and then would ask shaykh Ruknuddin about it.
I rose to go to the shaykh and stopped to say prayers in a certain mosque… I saw a tall man, with a rather dark complexion, with large eyes, a red veil, a long beard and with a long sari. He said something in a pleasant way. He was a man who manifested true majesty. He started to pray and when he prostrated, then he first put his knees on the floor and thereafter put his hands down. After having done so, he disappeared. I was suddenly quite certain that he was shaykh Nizamuddin. I left the mosque and saw my uncle with some of his friends standing at the door.
I told him: ‘I have seen your pir!” He laughed and asked: ‘How did you see him then?’ ‘I have seen a man and knew that he was shaykh Nizamuddin’. ‘What did he look like?’
So I described him completely. Tears came in his eyes and shaykh Ruknuddin said: ‘Yes, he exactly looked the same when I came to Delhi to become his mureed. You have seen him looking exactly like I saw him then’.”

Hadrat Baba Fariduddin Ganje Shakr (alaihir rahmah) was born on the 29th Shabaan in 569 A.H. in Khotwal, a village near Lahore. He was a direct descendant of Hadrat Umar Farooq (alaihir rahmah), the second Caliph of Islam.
It is narrated that a miracle occurred before his birth proving his Saintship. One day, during the pregnancy of his mother, she wanted to pluck some plums from her neighbour's tree without his permission, but the child in her womb (Hadrat Baba Farid) created a severe pain in her stomach that forced her to abandon the idea of plucking. After a few years after Hadrat Baba Farid's (alaihir rahmah) birth, his mother lovingly expressed: "My dear son, during your confinement I never ate anything which was unlawful." Hadrat Baba Farid (alaihir rahmah), however, smiled and said, "But, my dear mother, you wanted to pluck some plums from our neighbour's tree without his permission when I had created a severe pain in your stomach which saved you from this unlawful act."

SAYYIDI ABDULLAH SOOMEE (alaihir rahmah): He was the maternal grandfather of al-Ghawth al-A?zam Sheikh Abd al-Qaadir al-Jilani (alaihir rahmah). He was a very patient, humble, kind and sincere person. His home served as a place of refuge for the poor, needy and the orphaned.
He was amongst the grand Mashaaikh of Jilan. He was known as a great Sahib-e-Karamah?, meaning that he performed many miracles that were seen by thousands of people; from amongst whom many became his disciples by joining his spiritual order. Once, a few of his disciples (mureeds) were on a business expedition to Samarkand. Bandits stopped them. They immediately called out his name for assistance. Suddenly, they found him standing besides them saying, in a state of Jalaal, to the bandits: Our Allah is Pure and free from defects. 0 Bandits! Stay away (from my disciples). When the bandits heard these words, they dispersed leaving the Mureeds safe and unharmed. When the mureeds searched for Sayyidi Abdullah Soom?ee (alaihir rahmah) after this incident, he was nowhere to be seen. When they disciples returned to Jilan, they informed the people there of this incident only to be told that the great Saint (Wali) of Allah had not been seen to leave the city of Jilan during that particular time period!

Volumes have been written on Sabir-Paak Rehmatullahi ’Alaih by many great Mashaaikh.
In his fourth year, when he began to speak, his first words were "La Moujuda Ill-Allah" meaning "There is nothing present but Allah."
On the 17th of Muharram, Hadrat Sabir Paak (alaihir rahmah) was bestowed with the Khilafat in the Chistiya Silsila by Hadrat Baba Farid (alaihir rahmah).

Gawth ul 'Alam Mahboobai Yazdani Hadrat Sultan Sayyid Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir Simnani Rehmatullahi ’Alaih, titled 'Auhadudeen and Jahangir' through divine inspiration.
Direct descendant of Gawth al Azam Piranai Pir Dastagir Mahboobai Subhani Shaykh Sayyidena Abdul Qadir Gilani and spiritually inspired through the Chisti Order Hadrat Makhdoom Ashraf Rehmatullahi ’Alaih became the founder of the Ashrafi spiritual order.
Having abandoned worldy kingdom and crown at a very young age they set off on a spiritual journey in search of a spiritual guide for inner peace and to ultimately serve mankind. They studied under many great and learned scholars of the time and gained much blessing from many Sufis and gnostics. Eventually arriving at a place called Pandwa in Bangladesh where his Shaykh to be was already waiting to bless them.
Taktai Simnaan ko mar kar thokar Sarai alam ke tajdaar huwai
And today the 'faiz' of this Wali Allah who abandoned worldly and materialistic wealth for the pleasure of the Almighty has millions of devotees and followers throughout the world.

The first one to call himself Chishti was Abu Ishaq Shami. As the name Shami implies he came from Syria or even from Damascus (ash-Sham). He met a Sufi who directed him to settle in Chisht and from that day on he is known as Abu Ishaq Shami Chishti. He died in 940 C.E. in Damascus and lies buried on mount Qasiyun, where later on also Ibn al-‘Arabi was buried. Looking at the date of his death we can say that the Chishtiyya order is one of the oldest Sufi order.
Some of his sayings are:
1. Starvation excels all in bliss (this shows the ascetic character of classical Sufism).
2. The worldly people are impure while the dervishes are pure in their souls. These two different natures cannot therefore mingle.

The spiritual successor of the founder of the Chishtiyya order, Khwaja Abu Ishaq Shami Chishti, is called shaykh Abu Ahmad Abdal Chishti. The father of the shaykh for some time tried to keep him back from the Sufi path. He of course did not succeed as his son became an eminent Sufi. It is related about the shaykh that he did not sleep for thirty years. He was absorbed in meditation. He breathed his last on the 3rd of Jamada II at the age of ninety-five in 356 A.H. (corresponding to the 16th of May 967 C.E.). He was buried at Chisht in Afghanistan.
One of his sayings is: ‘Fire does not affect the true believer in God’.

Shaykh Abu Muhammad Chishti was invested as the head of the Chishtiyya order by his father Abu Ahmad Chishti about whom we have already reported. The appointment of a son as a successor is an exception with the Chishtis, but in case of genuine spiritual capacities there is nothing against the appointment of one’s son. When succession from father to son becomes an automatic procedure, then of course Sufism degenerates.
The shaykh passed away from this world on the 4th of Rabi II at the age of seventy (lunar years) in 409 A.H. (which corresponds to the 18th of August 1018 C.E.).
His sayings: 1. Cherish music to enlighten your heart.
2. Indulgence in sama’ (audition of Sufi music) for a moment is as prolific as the penitence for hundreds of years, but the worldly people do not realise it.

This has been the residence of the family since then.
Hadrat Khalid Shah (alaihir rahmah) set his blessed foot for the very first time in South Africa in 1966. He also delivered many inspiring talks throughout his visit. The Chisti Sabri Silsila spread throughout South Africa, including Botswana and Lesotho.

Hadrat Badsha Peer's (alaihir rahmah) genealogical lineage can be traced right up to the Noble Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam) Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). He was a Hassani and Hussaini Sayed. He belonged to four Silsilas, namely, Qaderia, Chistiya, Suharwardia and Naqshabandia Silsilas.
Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah) arrived in South Africa in the year 1860 from India.
Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah) had only four companions, two of them are Hadrat Saaiya Bawa and Hadrat Cassim Bawa (radi Allahu anhuma), whose Mazaars are situated in Pietermaritzburg. The other two are Hadrat Fateh Bawa (alaihir rahmah), whose grave is located at the entrance of Brook Street Cemetery and Hadrat Sayed Sahaab (alaihir rahmah), who is buried just behind Hadrat Badsha Peer's (alaihir rahmah) Mazaar.
Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah), passed away on the 6th of Rabi-ul-Awwal in the year 1886, just as the Mu'ezzin was reciting the second Azaan on the day of Jummah. As the musallies were walking out of the Jamaat Khana, they noticed a figure dressed in white lying next to the Wudhu Khana. On checking they noticed that it was the blessed figure of Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah) and he had passed away.

Hadrat Pochee Bawa (alaihir rahmah) was born in Verulam (Durban, South Africa) on the 3rd of Rajab in early 1880 A.D. His father, Cassim Pochee, came to South Africa in the early 1870's and was a great devotee of Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah).
Hadrat Pochee Bawa (alaihir rahmah) was approximately 7 years old when he was embraced and blessed by Hadrat Badsha Peer (alaihir rahmah) who predicted that "this boy will be like me."
Hadrat Pochee Bawa (alaihir rahmah) was a Mureed and Khalifa of Hadrat Shah Mohammed Fazl Hassen (alaihir rahmah) in the Qadri Saberi Silsila of Rampur, India. Hadrat Pochee Bawa (alaihir rahmah) was also instrumental in guiding many people towards the Divine Path and gave advice to people on day-to-day matters.
Hadrat Pochee Bawa (alaihir rahmah) breathed his last on Thursday, 29th Ramadaan (April 1959) at the age of 75. He was buried on Eid Day, 1st Shawaal (6th April 1959) before Jummah Salaah.
His Mazaar Shareef is to be found in Charlestown Cemetery. To this day his immortal glory continues to inspire thousands of grieved hearts by his spiritual blessings. A monumental miracle for the world to experience and learn lessons of love and peace from such an exalted soul.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
The Shaykh was born on the 4th of Muharram 708 Hijri at a place called Qasr-i-Arifan near the city of Bukhara, and he was a saint from birth. Karamats and visions were part of the Shaykh's life from his childhood. One day, soon after the Shaykh had learned to talk, he spoke to his mother regarding some cattle that were in front of them, telling her that one of the cows had a calf in her belly of such and such a colour, and with such and such markings on its body. When the cow gave birth, its calf was just as the Shaykh had described, and all the marks on its body were exactly where he had said they were.
Physically, the Shaykh acquired the knowledge of Tareeqah from Hadhrat Ameer Kalal rahmatullah alayhi, but in reality the Shaykh was a spiritual student of Hadhrat Khwajah Abd-ul-Khaliq Ghajdwani rahmatullah alayhi, for the Shaykh attained guidance from his Rooh.
It has been narrated that before the Shaykh passed away, he said, "When my last moment comes upon me, I shall teach the people how to die." So when the Shaykh reached the last moments of his life, he raised his hands in du'a and supplicated for a lengthy time. No sooner had he finished the du'a and wiped his hands over his face, his soul went to meet his Lord. The Shaykh was seventy-three years old when he passed away on Monday the 3rd of Rabi-ul-Awwal 791 Hijri. He had given instruction for the people not to recite the kalimah or the Qur'an aloud in front of his funeral procession, since it could be disrespectful. The shrine of the Shaykh is at a place called Qasr-e-Arifan, and is a fountain of blessing for the seekers of the Haq.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Hadhrat Shaykh Baqi Billah Radi Allahu anhu
The Shaykh was born in Kabul in the year 971 Hijri. It was here that he spent the first years of his life, and where he was raised by his parents and nurtured by his father Qadhi Abd-us-Salam Khalji Samarqandi Qurayshi rahmatullah alayhi, who was himself a pious man of Allah.
From childhood, the Shaykh possessed many saintly characteristics and would spend a great deal of time in solitude. The Shaykh learnt his formal Islamic knowledge from Maulana Muhammad Siddique Halwai who was a famous scholar of the age, and he had barely completed his studies when he set foot on the spiritual path of Allah. This led him to sit in the company of many Shaykhs of the time, and in some cases he even did Tawbah at their hand.
During the middle of Jumada ath-thani, the Shaykh fell ill; and from that same illness, with the words "Allah! Allah!" on his tongue, the Shaykh passed away on Saturday the 25th of Jumada al-akhir 1012 AH. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. The grave of the Shaykh is located at a place where the Shaykh had once performed wudhu and some dust from the ground had come onto his body.
The Shaykh had stated, "The dust of this place will be my companion. This place is close to the point where sarwar-e-konain Muhammad Mustafa Mujtaba sallallahu alayhi wa sallam placed his feet."
