Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuRespected Maulana, I am a revert to Islam and I need some help regarding a very personal problem. This is such a big problem that I can't seem to overcome. Before Islam I lived a very free life and was able to do whatever I wanted with out the knowledge of sin etc. Now since becoming a Muslim there have been a lot of things I needed to give up. Alhamdolillah I have managed to quit drinking and drug use but I am struggling with Zina I know it's wrong but I can't seem to help myself, I look at pornography, I masturbate and I have even cheated on my wife It's digusting I know but I can't seem to stop it. I was hoping that you could recommend a Dua or something to help me. It is embarrasing for me to post this here but I am at my wits end. I try to give up and pray and seek forgiveness but then before long my Nafs gets the better of me. Please bear in my mind that my knowledge of Islam and Arabic is very weak so I need something simple yet powerful, If there is anything? I eagerly await your reply. Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam You must keep your mind occupied in doing different things, whether they are Islamically related, or world related. Every time you have these feelings start to recite the ta'awwudh (a'udhu billahi minash shaytanir rajim) as many times as you can. You may also recite: 'la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil 'aliyil 'azim' .... as many times as possible. If things still dont seem to work out, as they then should, go and perform ghusl, or perform ablution, so that the freshness of wudhu' and ghusl, erase those bad thoughts from your head, and do something Islamic, like studying a topic related to the afterlife, or relating to heaven and hell. This should then put the fear of doing such things into your heart. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi Reason for Editing: edit grammar
