Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuYet another misconception those opposed to Mawlid hold can be seen in their statements such as these: "What occurs during Mawlid is mixing between men and women, singing and playing musical instruments, and drinking alcohol." I myself know this to be a lie, for I have attended many Mawlids and have not seen any mixing and never heard any musical instruments. As for drunkenness, yes, I have seen it, but not that of worldly people. We found people intoxicated with the love of the Beloved Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, a state surpassing even the agony of death, which we know overcame our master Bilal at the time of his death. In the midst of this sweet stupor he was saying, "Tomorrow I shall meet the loved ones, Sayyadina Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam and his blessed Companions." ref; www.islam786.org/eidmiladannabi.htm#47421478

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam A good post brother Shahid. It is they who are losing out if they don't understand the Significance of our Beloved Prophet Sayyidnna Muhammad Mustufa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, Birth, to Islam How lost are they?!!! Those who don't get to experience the spiritual connection in celebrating Eid Milad un Nabi, to dismiss without experience it, to knock it, and then have the audacity to apply such lies, "mixing of the sexes, and consuming of alcohol," is down right ignorance. These type of statements are made because they are scared of losing their followers, as they know that once experienced, the heart is opened up to light and once that light enters any heart , the darkness's illuminated , and then shaitan's work is made that much harder. That is why anything and everything is said to stop that 'banda' going anywhere near such Mehfils. Just the thought of it entering his head is drummed into his head as 'bidat'
