Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
I pray to Allah you are in the best of health and imaan, respested Imaam Saab. Ameen.
Please can you clarify for me whether it is ok to buy shares from places such as supermarkets and sell them at profit at a later stage?
JazakAllah in advance.
May Allah Azwajaal reward you abundantly for all your hard work and efforts. Ameen.
Allah Hafiz.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is perfectly permissable to buy shares with a firm or a business, as you then are a part owner of that business. Depending on the prosperity of the business, you will either gain profit, or make a loss in shares. However, this should not be confused with gambling, as doing business is not the same as gambling, for if it was, Allah the Almighty would have revealed to His Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, that business would have been forbidden, as it was a form of gambling. This is not the case, as to perform business is quoted in the Qur'an, is a sunnah, and the Ennobled Companions of the Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, have also carried on with business, regardless of making a profit or loss. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
