Assalamualekum..
Since many days, and specially since the proliferation of the cyber platforms there has been one questions that continues to bother me and that is 'Are we commercializing ISLAM???'
I don't think Islam permits to sell Holy Quran or its verses in any form Audio, Video, Books etc, unless the intention is just to recover the printing / manufacture cost ...How can the message of Allah have a COST associated with it when it was supposed to be free as freely spread by our beloved Prophet Mohammad (pbuh):
There are so many websites with a .COM (DOT COM) attached to them, not that they are bad sites, they are great pieces of work but they have ended up commercializing themselves and falling deep into the money game:
1) Putting Ads (selling stuff, sometimes unrelated stuff)
2)Selling Ayahs and message - Quran, Hadith copies, audio/video, memorizing tools, 10 quran versus in your mailbox etc etc. marketing them as a product and not as a gift or for charity or for guidance or for propagating the true divine message or Dawah (invitation to Islam).
At the same time there are other sites offering it for free, for example this site, it offers everything free (its a .INFO site):
I mean this site contains information about Holy QuranSharif, Islam and also has translation and recitation sections with interesting section to download Islamic software, books, audio etc:- www.QuranSharif.info
So the big question remains, whether we should let Islam be commercialized?? When at the first place it was meant to be FREE and to FREE us from the shackes of Shirk, Kufr and the wrong path. Please post your views on this and inshallah we will be guided. Ameen.
