Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam If ' Abdullah' had said the words that ''I divorce you'' whilst he was thinking, then no divorce will be effective. However, while he was thinking, and these words were uttered from his mouth, then a ruju' can be made. This is under the presumption that he uttered these words once. If he uttered them more than once, for example three times, then a different set of rules will apply. Ruju' can be done by explaining to her what happened, and that he goes back on what he said. Similarly, ruju' can be done by sleeping with her, caressing her, kissing her, and all the other things a person would do, had they been married. Jazak'allah for your question.
