Asalam alaikum,
I have this book'Ninety nine Names of Allah' where the author(Muhammed Iqbal Siddiqui)states that there are various cures from reciting different Attributes of Allah(s.w.t). Like: -He who repeats Ar-Rahman 100 times after Fard prayer will find everyone friendly towards him -He who repeats Al Quddus 100 times daily will be free from anxiety... I speak of experience when I say that I found this book very helpful but my friends refuse to believe me :'(without any evidence/source, in otherwords a sound hadith. The author didn't mention any source. Just as there are cures from reciting various duas and surahs, I know there are cures from reciting Allah(s.w.t)'s attributes. I'll appreciate it very much, if you could provide evidence or a sound hadith regarding this.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa aalihi wa Sallam)Jazak'Allah for your valuable question. Allah the Almighty, himself says in the Qur'an al kareem: 'Wa lillahil asma'il husna fad'uhu bi ha'
'And to Allah belong all the best names, so call Him by them' ('al A'raf; 180) Other than this, the Names of Almighty Allah have appeared in four Surahs of the Qur'an al kareem. The first is the above quoted verse, in which we are ordered to call him by them. The second is the last ruku of Surah Bani Isra'il: 'qulid ullaha awid ur Rahmana ayyaman tad'u fa lahul asma'ul husna'
'Say you, call upon Him saying Allah, or saying the Most Affectionate, whichever you call upon Him, all are His good names.' (Bani Isra'il: 110) The third is the First Ruku' of Surah Ta Ha: 'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahul asma'ul husna'
'Allah, none to be worshipped but He, His are all the good names' (Ta Ha :8) And finally: 'Huwallahul Khaliqul bari'ul musawwiru lahul asma'ul husna'
'He is Allah the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner, His are the Most Beautiful names' These are the four verses in the Qur'an al kareem, in which Allah the Exalted has asked us to call Him. Because each name has a particular characteristic or attribute attached to it, that particular characteristic or attribute carries benefit. The benefit is that when you recite those names, you will not only be earning reward and acting upon the Qur'an, but will also be affected by reciting the name of that attribute, just as you would when you pray Qur'an read the 'Darood Shareef' or pray salah. Because each name has a different meaning, the meanings of the names of Allah the Almighty are used to ward of hardships difficulty, and turmoils. Just as you would call for help when you were to drown, by reciting the names in the form of dhikr, will enable you to gain full benefit of those names, just as it has been commanded, in the above verses. There are other hadiths in relation to this, which state Allah the Almighty has 99 names, and some say He has a thousand. Another hadith states that he who learns the 99 names of Allah, shall be granted paradise, hence, there are many benefits, but we have mentioned a few. May Allah the Almighty help us to engage ourselves in His dhikr all the time, so that we are free from doubt, trouble, and hardship.Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
