Assalaamu Alaykum, Dear Respected Imam, I was reading on wikipedia that Ibn Sirin's (radi allahu anhu) book called 'Dreams and Interpretations' cannot be authentically traced back to him. Listening to a lecture by Dr Tahir Ul Qadri he mentioned that weak Hadith for Fadail Amal take precedence over Analogy. So are we still able to use this book. Here is the link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibn_Sirin

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam There are many sources of this book which have spread from him, through to different people. It would be unjustifiable, to say that the Italians were the only ones who has posession of this book, since Ibn-e-Sirin was born in Persia, most of his works have now been translated from Arabic, into English, Persian, Urdu, as well as Latin. Depending on where the source of the book has come from, there is not a consensus, amongst the scholars of the ahl-as-Sunnah wal Jama'ah, that this book is not authentic. Mostly this book is referred to, and is deemed appropriately his, despite the unautheticity noticed in his editions from other languages and other states. Therefore, having the practice of the common scholars who deal with dream interpretation, there has never been a disagreement, regarding the inauthenticity of this book. This may however, not be the case, in editions translated into other languages, which is to some extent challengeable. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
