Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhudear imam sahib i have looked through the archives but didn't find the answer there so now i'm asking you as i have had mixed answer's. how long before fajr does one stop eating if they are going to fast? could you please clarify as i have heard 10mins, 20 mins and even when fajr begins i'm very confused and as ramzan is literally 2 days away it would be a huge help. Jazakallah Khair. Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam It is sunnah to delay the sehri, although in the ahadith, there is no specific mention of times. This is why it is best to adhere to the Ramadhan timetable of your local mosque. Normally, in winter months Sehri can end at the call for Fajar salah. However in summer months, it can be up to 45 minutes before the adhan is said. If your timetable of your local mosque, is in line with these guides, then it is not far from being correct. Jazak'allah for your question. Wallahu A'lamu BiththawaabM. Waseem Ashrafi
