Assalamwalaikum
Volume 8, Book 74, Number 281: Narrated Ibn Mas'ud Radi Allahu anhu: Allah's Apostle Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam taught me the Tashah-hud as he taught me a Sura from the Quran, while my hand was between his hands. (Tashah-hud was) all the best compliments and the prayers and the good things are for Allah . Peace and Allah's Mercy and Blessings be on you, O Prophet! Peace be on us and on the pious slaves of Allah , I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I also testify that Muhammad is Allah's slave and His Apostle. (We used to recite this in the prayer) during the lifetime of the Prophet , but when he had died, we used to say, "Peace be on the Prophet." I read this in Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 74, Number 281
Is it right to follow this?
JazakAllah

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Wa'alaykum 'Assalam wa Rahmatullahi wa BarakatuhuAll Praise be to Allah who is the Lord of the Worlds, and may Endless Blessings be showered upon His Most Beloved, and Final Messenger of Islam, Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam Yes, this is correct, and we do follow this (when we accept Islam, for the case of non-Muslims), and we do follow this in salah, in the tashah'hud (sitting position) whilst reciting 'attahhiyyat'. There are other various forms of this recitation for example in the third and fourth kalimahs, which are taught to children at an early age. It is from the basis of such ahadith, that we recognise that there is non worthy of worship except Allah the Almighty, and that Muhammad is the Final Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa SallamJazak'allah for your question.
